respectfully. i think that the over whelming evidence supports the conclusion that as the NT was being compiled, there was a complicated process of editing and revision going on, as Christian identity, theology, and internal politics shifted and evolved.

i dislike the term "corrupted". it makes it sound like the message or the text its self is a corrupting force, or inwardly corrupt / bad.
the word the Quran uses is "injeel". many translate it as "gospels", but that becomes problematic when you realize that the current translations and renderings of words within many versions of the NT support a trinitarian message, which we believe is neither a truth about God, nor a message taught by Jesus. "injeel" seems to most closely mean "the message God sent with Jesus".
there is a group of believers called Ebionites historical and to an extent, current. the believe in One God, the "Father" of Jesus' sayings, and reject later discourse on the trinity. their beliefs are close to Muslim beliefs regarding who Jesus was, and what his message came down to seek the kingdom / presence of God first, and His righteousness. love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul and all your strength, and love your neighbor as yourself.

I went to one of their sites and found it funny that they say YHWH Alone the same way free-minds says God Alone.

I always wondered how one would know verses had been corrupted if you didn't also have the correct verses on hand to compare them to? For example
Jeremiah 8
8 " 'How can you say, "We are wise,
for we have the law of the LORD,"
when actually the lying pen of the scribes
has handled it falsely?LOL!! I know Muslims have used this verse before! All the apocrphyal books were kept!! None were burned.
Ebionites - off shoot of mainstream Christians trying to reestablish Jewish Law. I have an ex sister-in-law that was raised in the Armstrong Church . Anyway her faith is close to Ebionite.
I don't want to hurt any feelings or get banned just yet so I'm not quite ready to tell anyone all that I believe about Islam and Mohammad.

It seems the Ebionites believe very similarly to what I do. So now all the verses in the Quran that talk about believers from the people of the book make sense to me.
"...O people of the Scripture, let us come to a common agreement between us and between you; that 1) we do not serve except God, and 2) do not set up anything at all with Him, and 3) that none of us takes each other as patrons besides God...." (The Message 364).Someone should send them a copy of the quran )

348 of the Quran says that Jesus will teach The Injeel /or if you prefer 'The gospel' (in his life) AND The Scripture AND The Tauraat/ or if you prefer Torah. Now was he teaching the books of matthew, luke, john et al? Quiet ridiculous if you think about it. The 3 items are listed seperately, draw your own conclusion.
The torah in existence is about Moses, not Jesus.

LOL! I write in my Bible all the time when I get an inspiration as to a new meaning of a verse. Funny that it would become an actual part of the verse. But see we know the true history of the words- they were a marginal note.
The scrutinity of all the texts allows me to true the Holy Scripture even more. No part of it questionable or not was burned because it didn't conform to other texts.

well, that's good. that you're reading and thinking over your texts- it's a blessing to be able to read and rethink what we believe, and why. and to take notes.
but my point was that this is not the only case within the NT of side notes being added or inserted to conform to someone's ideas or views. for me, personally, it makes the structure of trinitarian thought as expressed through Christian readings of the NT to be more suspect, and worthy of more careful study.
