    Peace to everyone.

So my husband almost tackled me when he saw me about to pour hot water down the drain, saying the Jinn will come. Okay, news flash, I have poured hot water down the drain a MILLION TIMES and nothing has ever happened. Is this culture or a hadith or something? I told him let me pour it and prove him wrong, but looked freaked out that I was willing to do it. I don't get it.

I have seen supernatural stuff since childhood, stuff that has scared the crap out of me. But this... I am not scared of hot water in the sink. Compared to what was at my mother's house... water in the drain is nothing. But I will not tell him those stories.. OMG he will die! Guess I should never tell him about how we used to play with a ouija board when I was a teenager.. &

Anyone have a way to enlighten me? I believe in jinn and "ghost" trust me 100% no question. But where does this stuff come from. Also he leaves the light on in the bathroom all the time at night.. wth?

Cold water showers then I take it.

Cultural myths I assume, never heard of a hadith about it, then again the hadith are chockful of them as well. They vary from place to place, some myths tell girls never to go near trees at night with their hair all flowy, some about rooftops and bones and a lot mysteriously center on bathrooms and drains (and what goes in them) strangely enough.

I've never heard a hadith about not pouring hot water down a drain. Maybe there is one but who cares. The Jinn can't do us any harm unless God wills it.

        Kevin D.Cooper peace

          Salam,

That is scary. Did you ever seek medical help ? I mean psychological or neurological supports from trained professionals ?

          Peace

          May Allah protect you
