i still can't get my head round the fact that contemporary islam is not what Muhammad preached, even though i've been searching for the truth for nearly 3 years.
forget how it got to this, but WHY did it get like this?
why are there so many jewish and pagen arab laws in contemporary islam?

That is because most people on earth are living in a fantasy island. And me and you and everyone else has once been a part of the "matrix of the society". Matrix = The illusion of the good life. Matrix Matrix is the blind following of the masses and the system people are trapped in. By following the majority, they will loose their naturals self and the straight path of God. "People that live in the matrix" are content with the explanations and teachings of the authorities, and trust them blindly. They don't want to use research to find the truths and expose the fakeness and wrong-system of the society. The majority of people on the earth are content with their situations, and don't care about Gods system.
6116 And if you obey the majority of those on Earth they will lead you away from God's path; that is because they follow conjecture, and that is because they only guess.
God wants to test human beings in their system to see who's real and who's fake. God tells us in the Quran that he wants to test us
672 The One who created death and life, that He may test you, which of you will do better works? He is the Noble, the Forgiving.
21111 "And for all I know, it may be a test for you and an enjoyment for a while."
Every religion/system in the entire earth has been corrupted. Some of them less, some of them more. Angel, i think it is not only the religions/systems that has been corrupted. Also political parties are corrupted, Food industry is corrupted, Clothes are corrupted (contain chemicals). Morality is corrupted. Everything thing in the entire world has a real and a fake part in it. Or an evil and good part. For example, a table might be used to do homework on, and the same table can be used to hit someone with. Everything has a positive and a negative use. Even the Quran is used to justify evil acts by some people on the earth. I think this thing is called matter and anti matter. All the unmorality and evilness and corruption around us is because people are tempted by this worldly life. They see life as fun and games, and an amusent park. They are slaves to their ego's. Most people on earth does not a lead a natural lifestyle. They only care about the luxurious parts of this life
632 This worldly life is nothing more than games and a diversion, and the abode of the Hereafter is far better for those who are righteous. Do you not understand?
751 The ones who took their system as amusement and games,
and were preoccupied with this worldly life.670 Leave alone those who have taken their system as fun and games, and this worldly life has tempted them.
557 O you who believe, do not take as allies those who have taken your system as fun and games from among those who have been given the Scripture before you and the rejecters. And be aware of God if you are believers.
2860 And anything that is given to you is only the materialism of this world, and its glitter. And what is with God is far better, and everlasting. Do you not comprehend?
286 These are the ones who have purchased this worldly life instead of the Hereafter. The retribution will not be reduced for them, nor will they be supported.
If people purchased the hereafter instead of this life, i think most of the problems in the world, such as wars, corruptions, etc would be erased.

6112 And as such, We have permitted the enemies of every prophet, human and Jinn devils, to inspire in each other with fancy words in order to deceive. Had your Lord willed, they would not have done it. You shall disregard them and their fabrications.
2531 And it is so that We make for every prophet enemies from among the criminals. And your Lord suffices as a Guide and a Victor
Angel, as we can see above, God tells us that he have permitted enemies to every prophet . This tells us that every religion has been corrupted, because if it comes a new religion, there must first come a prophet with revelations from God. To be honest with you i still can't accept that most people on earth dont care about the environment and only are slaves to their ego's. How can we live in year 2007, and still have wars and corruption?
Sometimes i wonder if this life is only a thoughtworld and an illusion like Qurantum physics tells us.Today i truly understand what God means by saying that the this life is nothing compared to the hereafter
938 O you who believe, what is wrong with you when you are told "Mobilize in the cause of God," you become heavy on Earth. Have you become content with this worldly life over the Hereafter? The enjoyment of this worldly life compared to the Hereafter is nothing.

respectfully.I think that answer to this is simple God The Most Powerful has sealed their hearts and i think that there is a verse in the Quran where God tells us that He will seal the hearts of those who won't believe and when they see the Right path, they won't accept it and when they see the wrong path, they will accept it as the Right Path.
Dear sister, they have rejected Quran, insulted God, prophet Muhammed and they have started looking for other book to follow because they say that Quran needs to be explained by narrators who haven't even met prophet Muhammed.

Such pessimism, tsk tsk!
The criteria for people to be muslim as described in the quran - believe in God, believe in the last day, and act in the manner of believers (as described in the quran).
Now what you mean by "contemporary islam" is this fabricated religion that has been wrapped around the deen in an attempt to hijack it - what they don't know of course is that unlike a plane, you cannot hijack an idealogy.
I don't think there is a "seal on their hearts" if by "they" you mean "contemporary Muslims" - or if there is, this seal can be broken (how else would anyone be a believer?).
Remember that "muslim" is defined by action, not by labels. That is all we need and by that judgement alone, the world is teeming with muslims.

Im in agreement here with OPF. I've read quite a few posts here where people are stating that God has sealed their hearts and from the posts it seems people think this is Gods doing and a permanent seal. If people believe that you can repent to God anytime and reform then that seal isn't permanent is it?
Its also not good to generalise people into a group as it creates more division. We all need to grab the rope of God and stick together regardless of idealogies/creed/religion etc. Except those that cause mischief in the land and fight these are the people we need to bring down and in my opinion these people are among every "religion."
