In Which City In The UK Should We Form A Quranic Community?
-
I would never want to live in the UK, especially London. I'm sure the standard of living in the UK is pretty high, but what I can't stand about the UK are all those invasive, vulgar, evil, abominable, oppressive, suppressive, demeaning and inhuman surveillance cameras. God in the Quran condemns the filth that is surveillance
O you who believe, you shall avoid any suspicion, for even a little bit of suspicion is sinful. You shall not spy on one another, nor shall you backbite one another; this is as abominable as eating the flesh of your dead brother. You certainly abhor this. You shall observe GOD. GOD is Redeemer, Most Merciful.

Peace,
If you guys are gonna go through the trouble of packing up and moving to a new country, why not a place with some sunshine and palm trees?? sun

Hi all!
I dont really see the purpose of Quranic Community. Moreover, I thing this is as dangerous as any other sectarian community formed. I dont see my self as part of any community. I just want to understand more about the Quran, and the way of life we have to follow. Free-minds is enough for me for this purpose.
Don't fall in the same trap all others did.
Peace.

Sunshine and warmth don't seem great to this Pakistani who's enduring a Pakistani summer
If I'm going to be part of a Quranic community, it'll have to be somewhere in Scandanavia.

I'm in Scandinavia. Not too far from the capital in Norway, Oslo. Don't hesitate to get in touch.

No problem.

As Salaam Alaikum,
I don't live in the U.K. so I am not sure of what city would be good or anyhting but I would like to say thisThere are some of you all who are against the idea of establishing our own community where the majority of Muslims follow only the Quran. I have to really say that I disagree with this opinion. I know that no matter how modern I may be (and yes I say "modern" because in our modern way of thinking we particularly love the idea of "individualism", I would really love a community like this.
I too want to go to the mosque one day and hear nothing but references to the Quran. I want to send my children to a Quran school too, where what they learn IS the Quran. I want to go to a "halaqa" and study the Quran myself. I want my children to grow up with a group of friends who are Muslim and believe only in the Quran. I want my children to marry Muslims who believe only in the Quran.
It is lonely being the only one in your town who believes in this. Really lonely. Constantly being told you are wrong, going to hell, and not even a Muslim! Having people cut their eyes at you and think that you are crazy.
And I am not foolish enough to believe that we would all agree on the same things, but still.
I would love to have this.

peace all,
Surely rather than picking a random city/town/place, shouldn't you have some criteria that a place should fulfill, e.g. things which would be beneficial, practical and conducive to whatever aims such a community has? Or if someone does suggest a place, they list the pros/cons, so an informed decision can be made?
We need to think in a practical/realistic manner.

ALthough i did not agree at first, i do agree now. From what you have written, there are many things in there i would like to see happen.
Anyway in my opinion various communities with various styles, cultures and traditions is a good thing providing that moral is valued greatly and that freedom is given. If we form a community, we represent us IMO. This could create a strong unity between us and be of great benefit to us.
I too would LOVE this Idea and would very likely strive to form such a community once i gain the neccassary knowledge and skills that i would need for such a cause.
Peace and God bless

Well, some of the projects I run are through www.StudyQuran.org, which is non-sectarian and only interested in improving accessibility and quality of study for all. I'm not the only one, e.g. www.QuranInstitute.org is regularly engaged in similar projects. Feel free to message me if you want to help.
I believe there will be (or has been?) an email coming round soon about working together on projects.

Peace,
Respectfully. You are invited to name other cities in UK or anywhere else in the world but you are right about this - we should strive for this cuase we should work on making one whole country a Quran alone country, a country that follows Quran and not man-made laws.
My country (Slovenia) is a country of 2.000.000 people but they don't like Muslims because of TV. The believe TV rather then 3D things in their own reailty. Sad.
Which city in UK, Europe or the world would then be best to work on this project? I proposed UK cities because there are at least 100 of us living in this country and if we either moved to the same city then that would be step number one, small but it's a start. God willing. Obviously i cannot ask people to just move to a city for this or thast reason but i hope that those that can move and are willing would see the higher goal - creating a better society, God willing.
I think the step number 2 is even easier few of us should go to a TV station and tell the world that there is aHUGE difference between sunnis and Muslims and that what we see TV is not Islam and that those people in the Mid-East are not all Muslims, they are sunnis, right? They have obviously create a new religion Sunnism, they have their own books hadeeth books, volumes and volumes and volumes, they have their religious leaders, imams, sheiks, ...., their own laws, cutting hands of thieves, stoning people to death, circumcision, hijab, veil, beards, guns, explosions, suicide, none of these things are Islamic or Quranic, so, if we go public, God willing, then people will see us - Muslims, and them - sunnis.
I wanted to go to BBC and speak about the most contraversial thing today hijab. I was gonna invite a few close frinds from this forum to join me because they speak better Arabic then me and have better memory when it comes quoting the Quran because i wanted to go live ina way that people could call in and ask us questions.
I am sure that after such a public appearance, God willing, we could see the effect of how Islam, the Real Islam is strong and people would accept Quran and not follow man made books and laws. God willing.
The people i wanted to go to BBC and talk about religious issues are my best friends here sister Samia, brothers Arnold, Edip and Wakas.
Once we tell the people that hijab is not Islamic or Quranic and provide evidences not only for this but also for suicide bombers, beards, that women and men are equal and so on, people will read The Quran, conversions will be in masses, just like in the old days, God willing. Of course, God guides whom He wills.
Peace.

confused Never knew you thought so highly of me.
You dont need to physically go to BBC studios. You could try writing to newspapers/magazines/TV channels/individuals first. However, what must come before any of this, is you'd first have to have a concise and precise rebuttal to the points you raised. Have you/we got that?
I am working on having something similar under one site (see this thread) but with my workload it may take a few months.

'Surely rather than picking a random city/town/place, shouldn't you have some criteria that a place should fulfill, e.g. things which would be beneficial, practical and conducive...'
I could not agree more. We must still remember that we are 'khalifas'. We must make sure we do not destroy the environment. We must take into consideration all the points raised in the Quran including hunting and the forbidden months. Why? we need food and we do not want to raise animals unhealthily and give them disease and consume the meat and get ourselves diseased. Nowadays hit any any stores, organic food costs 3 times as much as the normally grown type and God forbid, the GMO varieties. Why eat modified and diseased meat and vegetables?
We must make sure the essentials are well taken care of before we move on to other wants.Easy said than done..maybe..we can still try.
We have to think about other things too like working during the day and resting in the night as God mentioned in the quran. So it is gong to be more than just location.
I am not anti-tech/progress -why should I be? But we must adhere to a lifestyle that is not wasteful or polluting. Ask yourselves..can we give up plastic?
Why settle for a polluted city when we can set our eyes on a greener place with streams and non life threatening fauna and exotic flora..Some of you scientists/highly educated folks in this website can lead us (the ulama)...
God guide us always..
