how do YOU do you salat?

Inspired by GODSubmitter's remarks, i will ask everyone, How Do you do your salat?

(Disclaimer This should not be used as a rule of thumb to do your own salat. People Go through different situations everyday, and His Supreme, Mercy-Full Majesty Grants us an excuse for doing our salat while riding , walking etc... Thus Variation is assured!)

My Personal, Current daily salat consist of 3-daily Salats. I will specifically describe one of them from the past week . (I will not be 100% acuurate... Only His Supreme, High Majesty can say the full Rightful Truth!)
A concise description of the salat i did would be me treating the Almighty as a King.
The Movements include 1x Intro lay flat/prostration, 1x stand/bow, 1x kneel, 1x end lay flat/prostration).
Detailed description I did an "intro" prostration, Ask His Majesty to ease my way through my salat & Grant me a vehement prayer. Then I excuse myself and come up into a bow, say my own english version of sura 1, and prostrate at "you alone do we serve/worship&quot, then I spend most of the time kneeling/prostrating in prayer/Reverance before his Majesty. After finishing my prayers/requiests I Excuse myself and leave. Simple!

Just Treat His Majesty Like a King! It Makes things easier and more sincere. How would you go about to asking a king? Would you not revere him? would you not try to stand in humbleness before him? would you not pray to him senserily and from the bottom of your heart?

Some personal current points to note
*I do not observe any raka'as. My understanding of the meaning of "shortening" your salat in times of fear is shortening the time spent during the state of remembrance of the Almighty (sole perpose of salat), and not the # of movements of bows/prostrations. Quality beats quantity here!
*I Pray in mostly english, because that's the language i can be most sincere/vehement.(Zakari-YAH in 337 obviously wasn't praying in arabic...and actually most prophets/messengers did not speak arabic either)
*I Do not really recite verses from the Quran during my salat (except maybe at the ending of my salat, in english, of verse 17111)
*My Prayer depends upon my needs, desires, wants, (e.g Guidance, rightousness, support, ease, wisdom/understanding etc. the ocean of prayer is vast, and so pray for anything, even help with your Homework = remember his majesty)

My personal Salat variently lasts in duration (again sole purpose of doing the Salat is to remember His Majesty, and supporting his majesty by studying and spreading the truth is i would think, worthwhile too (meaning, turning into a hermit in order to get closer to His Most Supreme, High Majesty, is not very productive, in comparison to "striving" in his cause, such as by supporting his cause. This is why Hermitism is not decreed!)
*Lastly, I found it very easy to become in a state of "reverance", during salat if one treats himself as a servant/subject to his king, and we should know that His Most blessed Majesty is the only Real Ruler and King of the worlds!

(All of these descriptions/points i made are/can bound to change over time, as i stated Variation is assured in our daily lives, and so adaptation is something we could do)

That kind of a metaphorical representation in the mind, of God as a king, is wrong I think, because He clearly states in Sura 112 that
"None equals Him."
So NOTHING is similar to God or equals Allah!

One of the most catastrophic mistakes was in the Biblical statement that God created human to His "likeness" i.e. human is similar (?) to God?
God created man after his own image; in the image of God he created Man, (which in my understanding, is the greatest insult to God ever made, a great calamity. How can a weak creature on earth, a bug, be compared to the One Who has control over everything in the infinite universes He created?-citation from realquran.net)

Same as some Brahmanic doctrines (see next post where I paste a good text on that).
That kind of prayer might give some emotional satisfaction to the ego, but I think that's not the point of salaat.
Salaat is not a substitute for an imagined contact with "somebody", or an internal dialog with an imagined recipient ...

I just made a post about infinity being nothing. I wonder if "Nothing is equal to God" really states that esoteric truth.

Abt prayer. I think you can do it anyway you like, as long as it isn`t offensive. A true and honest prayer to God, is of that of guidance, and I believe that is why it is included in the Quran. And reading all of the Quran is a prayer aswell.

Also, The Almighty is indeed a king! one of his attributes is being The King (i.e the only Rightful King of the universe). I Mean, if insignificant human rulersd want to be directed with "your majesty", then the Almighty should be directed to as His Suprememajesty hail

Also, to the after his own image/likeness. I do not think this is a mistake. I do not think it is an insult either. People can very erroneously concieve it as after physical terms, but this is not the case. None Equals tyhe Almighty ofcourse!
I think by likeness it could mean attributes! like rulership. This is because the verse directly after that in Gen. Verse 26 states that His Most Supreme Majesty gave Adam & his wife (i.e humans in general) dominion over the animals etc. This is what i think of "likeness" (i.e dominionship).
Other key description points that conform with "like our own likeness" are
Creativeness (humans have ability to create things) Compare with the Almighty creating all things
Intelligence ( Humans can think/perceive) Compare with the Almighty endowing everything with his knowledge & mercy
Aestheticness (Humans can appreciate beauty) compare with the Almighty perfecting everythings
Morality (humans love, like, dislike etc) Compare with the Almighty having his own sense of likenesses and unlikenesses

All of these can infact be traced to His Most supreme, high Majesty's "likeness" but NOT not in physical terms like in Quran 4211 nor like your example of having a complete equal 1124)
Another intrepertation is the Spiritual/moral concept of Humans, since in this case (i.e after our own likeness) would make humans different from animals which were not made "after our own likeness". This can again be seen in our sense of Morality.

I would think it's not a good idea to hastely come into conclusions. Such is the case with biblical translations. I would think you have to slowly take a step back, and wonder Why this/that was stated (i.e is there wisdom behind it).
The Quran confirms the Torah, and even set's a negative view on the jews who came to the Prophet Muhammed for judgment by saying how will they make thee their judge seeing THEY HAVE the Torah, wherein is God's judgment in 543, also in the same sura, the Almighty states that the people of the book shall rule with the Torah/Gospels
Jesus & Muhammed Confirmed the Torah, and corss referensed to each other (e.g eye 4 an eye). Also, His Supreme Majesty states that the jews "Twisted" God's words, and as conforming to his statement that he cited for us from every example in the Quran, His Most blessed Majesty cited for us jews twisting the Almighty's commandments by stating that basically they don't really have to be that trustworthy with the gentiles (with the case of lending in quran 377), However This is NOT the case as the Almighty Commanded them to do righteous in judgment etc.

I Think there is great wisdom in the previous scriptures, even His SUpreme Majesty describes them as guidance & light.
Key points of the NT is Exaltation/arrogance leads to being debased, while on the other hand, humbleness leads to being exalted. Also sinners are "welcomed" as His Most Supreme Majesty is Immense in Mercy (as seen a couple of parables as lost son and the lost coin etc).
We are not held accountable to uphold the laws in the OT or the NT, because the Quran is the latest edition. Nevertheless, we should not rule out the previous scriptures as rubbish, because at some point, they were divinely revealed in some way.
