My knowledge of Arabic is limited, and I would like to check with you a question about Q262.

In M.Asad, Y.Ali and Pickthall translate ??Those who believe...? adding in brackets . Now, other translations don?t add that, and I have checked my Arabic text and I can?t see no hint of .

I don't see adding a triviality. I have seen it handled as an argument to ask other monotheist to accept and believe the Qur'an.

With due respect to the work of the abovementioned translators, is this just a plain misguiding addendum ?by their own hand? on one of the ?tolerance? ayats, or I have missed something? confused

    Thank you. Salaam.

This is the right traslation for 2-62

      (&#65279

Verily! Those who believe and those who are Jews and Christians, and Sabians, ] whoever believes in All?h and the Last Day and do righteous good deeds shall have their reward with their Lord, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve ] (62)

I agree, there is nothing in the verse mention the word Quran (I'm an Arabic Speaker).

      Peace

        peace,

Looks very likely like an insertion on the part of translators, as it does not exist in the Arabic.

To completely rule it out you'd have to cross-reference all verses relating to the same topic, and see how AQ defines the words used in this ayat/sign.

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.
