    Salaams,

    just reading this ayah

    004.020
YUSUFALI But if ye decide to take one wife in place of another, even if ye had given the latter a whole treasure for dower, Take not the least bit of it back Would ye take it by slander and manifest wrong?
PICKTHAL And if ye wish to exchange one wife for another and ye have given unto one of them a sum of money (however great), take nothing from it. Would ye take it by the way of calumny and open wrong?
SHAKIR And if you wish to have (one) wife in place of another and you have given one of them a heap of gold, then take not from it anything; would you take it by slandering (her) and (doing her) manifest wrong?

Men can replace wives! for shear enjoyment- where are the rights of children?

        Peace,
        Respectfully.

To Allah belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth.
        He creates what He wills.
He bestows female (offspring) upon whom He wills,
and bestows male (offspring) upon whom He wills.
        The Noble Qur'an - Ash-Shura 4249

        The Noble Qur'an - Al-Isra 1723-24
And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him. And that you be dutiful to your parents. If one of them or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of disrespect, nor shout at them but address them in terms of honour. And lower unto them the wing of submission and humility through mercy, and say "My Lord! Bestow on them Your Mercy as they did bring me up when I was young."

        The Noble Quran - At-Taghabun 6415
Your wealth and your children are only a trial, whereas Allah! With Him is a great reward (Paradise).

        The Noble Qur'an - An-Nur 2458-9
O you who believe! Let your legal slaves and slave-girls, and those among you who have not come to the age of puberty ask your permission (before they come to your presence) on three occasions; before morning prayer, and while you put off your clothes for the noonday (rest), and after the 'Isha (latenight) prayer. (These) three times are of privacy for you, other than these times there is no sin on you or on them to move about, --attending (helping) you each other. Thus Allah makes clear the Ayat (the Verses of this Qur'an, showing proofs for the legal aspects of permission for visits, etc.) to you. And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.
And when the children among you come to puberty, then let them (also) ask for permission, as those senior to them (in age). Thus Allah makes clear His Ayat (Commandments and legal obligations) for you. And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.

        The Noble Qur'an - Al-Munafiqun 639
O you who believe! Let not your properties or your children divert you from the remembrance of Allah. And whosoever does that, they are the losers.

        Also, i found thishttp//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islam_and_children
Just, please, disregard the hadith part.

        Glory be to our God.
        Peace.

          Salaams,

          just reading this ayah

where are the rights of children?

In verse 4-20, God is telling us regarding divorce; but the following are what we should do regarding the rights of our kids (these are some of the verses and not all)

          (&#1635

The mothers shall breastfeed their offspring for two whole years, if the father desires to complete the term. But he shall bear the cost of their food and clothing on equitable terms. No soul shall have a burden laid on it greater than it can bear. No mother shall be treated unfairly on account of her child Nor father on account of his child. An heir shall be chargeable in the same way if they both decide on weaning, by mutual consent, and after due consultation There is no blame on them. If ye decide on a foster-mother for your offspring there is no blame on you provided ye pay (the mother) what ye offered, on equitable terms. But fear Allah and know that Allah sees well what ye do. (2-233)

          (&#1633
Allah (thus) directs you as regards your children's (inheritance) to the male, a portion equal to that of two females if only daughters, two or more, their share is two-thirds of the inheritance; if only one, her share is a half. For parents a sixth share of the inheritance to each if the deceased left children; if no children, and the parents are the (only) heirs, the mother has a third; if the deceased left brothers (or sisters), the mother has a sixth. (The distribution in all cases is) after the payment of legacies and debts. Ye know not whether your parents or your children are nearest to you in benefit. These are settled portions ordained by Allah; and Allah is All-Knowing All-Wise. (4-11)

          (&#1639

Even so, in the eyes of most of the Pagans (Moshrekeen), their `partners' made alluring the slaughter of their children in order to lead them to their own destruction, and cause confusion in their religion. If Allah had willed, they would not have done so but leave alone them and their inventions. (6-137)

          (&#1633

Say "Come I will rehearse what Allah hath (really) prohibited you from" join not anything with Him; Be good to your parents kill not your children on a plea of want; provide sustenance for you and for them; come not nigh to shameful deeds, whether open or secret; take not life, which Allah hath made sacred, except by way of justice and law thus doth He command you, that ye may learn wisdom. (6-151)

          (&#1639

They ask thy instruction concerning the women. Say Allah doth instruct you about them and (remember) what hath been rehearsed unto you in the Book, concerning the orphans of women to whom ye give not the portions prescribed and yet whom ye desire to marry, as also concerning the children who are weak and oppressed that ye stand firm for justice to orphans. There is not a good deed which ye do, but Allah is well-acquainted therewith. (4-127)

          Peace
