Can Allah Create ANYTHING?
-
Here's another paradox, can God willingly suspend His Godhood and take on human limitations for a while? According to Christians, He can, that's what they believe about Jesus.
P.S. These paradoxes are pointless. Allah is All-Powerful, and He can do whatever He wants, but what He wants is not always the same as what He can do (which is anything).

These paradoxes are beautiful exercises in logic and are a good way of finding out what God "is" as opposed to what you want God to "be".

I do not think God /Allah cares if you say he/she as long as you believe. I think that is the biggest problem between people they all think they are right and to me God/Allah is the only one that is right. I wish we could all just enjoy God/Allah regardless if you call God/Allah him/her. God/Allah can create anything in my opinion.

One of the things that helped satisfy me on the issue of the 'divine femine' was
the notion that Jesus had a daughter named Sara...If God was to continue the blood line of Jesus in a daughter instead of a son
it continues to underscore the equality of the male and the female in God's eyes...The Quran seems to indicate to me, that God is far to LARGE to have
sons or daughters, and is critical of those who say that the Angels have
female names..The Gospel of Thomas has a controversal verse in it where Jesus
is to have said that a Woman needs to become a Man...It is all too confusing to me to really understand...
But I have some solice in the Idea of Sara being the first
in the blood line of Jesus... -
Can Allah create a rock so heavy that even he couldn't lift it?
(If you have a panthiestic view of Allah then ignore my question)Peace,
Respectfully.Allah SWT has created certain rules and Laws that we see around us.
If Allah decided to create a rock so heavy that even He couldn't lift it, then He would have to first create a Law where one of His Orders would not be executed.
This rock would have to either get a will of his own and apparently more Might then God has it.
Glory be to our God, God can do everything and Anything you think of and much more.
We only have limited imagination.
God is therefore The ALLMIGHTY.
Glory be to our God.Peace.

Hehe nice.. i like to add mine,
even if God creates a rock and lift it, who would be able to see it and confirms that he had lifted the rock? Would we be able to see that huge rock to confirm it? If God would come down to earth to show us that he can lift a rock would we believe it? Would earth be able to withstand it? Would we be able to even live to see it? If He showed it in our dream would we believe it? would we even bother to remember it? If i say i saw God had lifted the rock would you guys believe it? A lot of things have to be considered IMHO. My conclusion is it's possible but it's impossible for us to observe and comprehend. So it's a waste of time and effort to God to even bother to answer this question... (although it's good for our mind to ponder) hehe ;D ;D ;D
Peace peace

Peace,
Respectfully. The Exalted God AllPowerful, The Most Merciful has created the sun without getting burned, has created Jupiter without being tired, has created 6.000.000.000 humans without geting lost and losing track, has created so many angels and keeps Perfect Order in all spheres.
Glory be to our God.
Peace. -
Nice
Is God capable of being incapable?
Perfectness also includes incapablity IMHO (i can't think how but my guts tells me so hehe). God can be incapable if He desires. Just like infinite and finite. in infinite there is also finite. without the finite can infinite be infinite? i think not.

GOD is limited by His characteristics. To explain
God cannot create a being more powerful than Him. Because He is ALL-Powerful.
God cannot create something he does not know about. Because He is ALL-Knowing.
God cannot make Himself mortal because then he would cease to be eternal and would therefore not be God.
God cannot make an even number odd because they are defined in His own words (By the even and the odd!)To summarise God cannot do everything. God is defined by certain characteristics nothing can conflict with these otherwise He would cease to be God by his VERY NATURE which would result in the fallibility of God and the cease of existence.
-
As I see it, those characteristics are relational to us, they are not absolute, because we can never know anything 'absolute' about God, as only God can know himself.
We call God 'All-Powerful' because he is more powerful than we can imagine
We call God 'All-Knowing' because he knows more than we can imagine
We call God 'All-Loving' because he loves us more than we can love ourselves
We call God 'All-forgiving' because he forgives more than we could every forgive
These are all about our relationship with God - because God created the universe, our only way of looking at him is through ourselves and the rest of creation. So when we ask any question about God as separate from creation - i.e. what he can do to himself, that is impossible for us to ever approach. We just don't know, our brain does not work with regards to topics outside this universe, the laws of logic cannot tell you anything outside their jurisdiction.
Likewise, the sex of God is nothing to do with God and all about us. "Father" God is juxtaposed against "Mother" Earth, rain from the heavens fertilizes the soil to create life, it's all symbolism.

No, because if you believe the Qur'an is the Word of God then you would believe that when God says he is All-Knowing, All-Aware He means it! God doesn't say I am similar to being All-Knowing, All-Aware. There is no way around these descriptions, they come from God himself. It's not like the Revelation is written like this Muhammad say "I have come to understand my God is All-Powerful because I can't do what he does." No It says "He is All-Knowing, All-Aware, He has control over all things " God describes Himself, WE do not describe Him. His most beautiful Names are in the Qur'an not the Hadith. These are definitions because they have to exist in order for the Universe to be the way it is such that it is a system limited entirely by God the De Facto Deus Ex Machina.
Limited in such ways There cannot be anything outside of his knowledge and control.
There cannot be anything that stands as the Light or the Truth or be more truthful or more light-giving.
There cannot be anything that is called the Creator other than Him
Thee cannot be a being more powerful than Him.If there were NO limits on the basis of God and nothing else (not our understanding of God) Then this would be a VERY different existence.
My understanding is that God has no definitions I believe he DEFINES things. By God being here he defines mercy, power, love, creation, knowledge and more. I do not believe they are earthly things we use to define God as if he bears some resemblance to a human being, I believe they come from God Himself anything else bears similitude but is not equal to. He describes Himself as as THE something or THE that. Not A something or A that.
Allah! There is no Allah save Him. His are the most beautiful names.

can god in her infinite wisdom do that?
Why do you refer to God as "she", speaking of "her infinite wisdom"???
Peace.
-
God creates what He pleases. When He says to somethin " be" then it is.
-
Allah must be limited, if she can't do those 'paradoxical' things then she is not all-powerful, and she obviously is limited. Coz if she could do those things then she would be 'unlimited'.
Technically you are wrong as well.
The creative act is not of god or goddess, being the polarized aspect of the one, but of the two together. If not, such polarization would not have occurred first.
But it is god (masculine/mind) that does the creating and goddess (feminine/spirit) that receives and manifests.
The result is the manifested creation which in many traditions (not only christian) is referred to as the son of god.The denial of trinity and son you find in the quran is somewhat worrying, it indicates that lack of knowledge had its influence in the final version.
In a way it is funny, so many are deeply 'fallen' and belief only in what the eyes can see (physical creation), yet they deny the son of god which is the very same 'thing'. -
God creates what He pleases. When He says to somethin " be" then it is.
Actually, he leaves the work to his off spring, the creator gods who are him.
The first source/father is the facilitator.Just like the many branches of a tree create the new twigs and leaves, while it is still the trunk who makes it all possible.
Yes, there is one trunk. But humans are not his first and immediate creation of it. The heavens are filled with earlier creations, spirits, creators, angels etc. and they need to have something to do you know
We are 4th generation.
