Im pretty sure there are more than just two prayers in the Quran
Realize that statements like "pretty sure" are said only when a person cannot BE SURE(KNOW). We say we "believe" only when we dont KNOW. I will share some KNOWLEDGE with you so we can reason together.
i know a verse that says something about the middle prayer, which means there must be either 3, or 5 , or 7 prayers etc, in order to have a middle prayer as the Quran says we must uphold.
There is no verse of a middle prayer. The verse you are referring to is
(223 Guard on the programming, the balancing programming, and maintain to the God devoutly.
The word "wusta" that many translate as "middle" is speaking of the balancing principle of salaat, the meeting in the MIDDLE of the Conciousness and SUbconcious, or the WILL and SPIRIT. That is why we are told to maintain salaat at dawn and dusk, the times where day and night MERGE, in the "middle".
So to me, it would be at ab absolute minimum we have 3 prayers, but most likely , 5 total, which is how many times a day I pray, sometimes more, since this to me doesnt sound like too much for me to do, considering all that God has given me without me even deserving it.
Prayer is calling on God, and I do it constantly. 5 times a day is not enough for me. But prayer, calling on God is "dua", what we are discussing really is "salaat" (programming the subconcious), and the timing associated with salaat is TWO.

Respectfully.I also think that 2238 is talking about the best balanced prayer because it says
You shall consistently observe the Contact Prayers, especially the best balanced prayer, and devote yourselves totally to GOD.
It first tells us to consistently observe the prayers and at that point one should ask himself, well, which prayer, so naturally, the answer would be"The Best balanced One", then, you might ask, which should i observe as the best balanced one, the morning prayer, the night prayer, day prayer, which one?
The answer is all.
Because if you keep just one prayer best balanced, then why do some other prayer unbalanced? Why then keep up the other prayer at all, why not just have that one prayer and that's it?But 7625, 26 is difficult nut for me
And commemorate the name of your Lord day and night.
During the night, fall prostrate before Him, and glorify Him many a long night.Here we are told to prostrate before Him during the night and glorify Him a long night thru. Can someone first give me Arabic translation of this but in English wording?

Just read this thread and gonna post a quick reply of what I thought when I read the thread.
I first went and read the whole surah.
What I will state below is just the opinions of my first thoughts (reactions, instinct) when I focused around the verses you mentioned.

I feel there may be improtance in the AND behind the 2 verses.

It seems there are four orders that cannot be separted here!
- Be PATIENT for your Lord's judgement/ law (Hokm) AND do not obey either the sinner or the unbeliever
- AND remember the Name of your Lord at the dawn and in the evening
- AND in the night prostrate to Him; and exalt Him for a long night.
Does this mean wait until the whole Quran is read to understand your Lord's hokm? And therefore there might be reference here to Laylat Al-Qadr?

From my understanding of Arabic, 'night was used here in its singular form'
AND from THE night prostate to Him and glorify Him 'laylan taweelan'
If the meaning was meant to be every night then couldn't the verse have been '.....and glorify Him 'layaly tuwaal' (many nights)
Or is its meaning EVERY night?But it is not for me to question God's words
I might be VERY wrong here, and have misunderstood the whole verse. As indeed, many other verses contain the singluar word 'day and not 'days' but refer to every dayI do not like reading English translations, as I said in a previous post, the Quran is only perfect in Arabic.
The translation offered by 'Noble Quran (English)' below
24Therefore be patient (O Muhammad ) and submit to the Command of your Lord (All?h, by doing your duty to Him and by conveying His Message to mankind), and obey neither a sinner nor a disbeliever among them.
25 And remember the Name of your Lord every morning and afternoon .
26And during night, prostrate yourself to Him (i.e. the offering of Maghrib and 'Ish?' prayers), and glorify Him a long night through (i.e. Tahajjud prayer).
And the verses might only be referring to Muhammed because as I heard Muhammed was capable of praying all night long until his feet bled. This was because he was enriched/fed by God.
Now I'm sure I remember being told this but I am not sure if it is in the Quran or a Hadith. We were taught this in school.
I definitely remember there being Hadith about someone asking the prophet why he (the someone) could not pray all night. And the prophet said something along the lines of 'you can try but I am able to because there is something between me and God (enrichment/feeding)
Now please beware, I am not putting words in the mouth of our prophet here. I am repeating (or at least trying to repeat) whoever narrated this Hadith about the prophet.
My belief is that we do not have the prophet's sayings with us today except what God asked our prophet to say and that is mentioned in the Quran...( 'And they ask you about alcohol and gambling... Tell them.....'
These are the prophets saying that we have. All hadith, regardless of whehter prefectly narrated letter for letter (which I doubt), is HEARSAY.
But anyway, back to the topic...As I said I can not remember where I heard that and I will try and look into it and this whole topic when I'm back home.

I'm don't know if this only directed to the prophet, because there are places in the Quran where God is talking to muhammad and says "ME"... and not "Him". There's that pronoun issue rearing it's ugly head again with me.
Anyway, I'm still thinking about this one.

Where is "me" used in reference to God from God's mouth?
I do not believe there is a "limit" to prayer. 7, 10, 100, 1000. Then people will get into these ideas "umm well if I do 7 a day thats the maximum! therefore I'm good with God" then they forget why they should pray in the first place, its not to toll up the amount on your wall and then hand it in to your guardian angel like a time slip, prayer shouldn't be limited to numbers. When we understand the reason for worship and "prayer" then the times, procedures and troubling verses will fade away and we will just bow down in worship. The best times to pray is sunrise and sunset because these are the times God tells us in specific to reflect on God's creation (alternation of night and day, merging day into night and night into day...) therefore we will be in a natural reflective mood as we see the sun setting and rising.
Prayer can also be given in the middle night as an extra offering from ourselves. In the midday and late afternoon. My opinion is as we quest for the face of God and for His good pleasure and humble ourselves continuously and evolve into faithful servants we will not see these times as superfluous or "not compulsory" and will be happy to donate some of our time to pray to our Lord. As God says
And whoever is in the heavens and the earth is His; and those who are with Him are not proud to serve Him, nor do they grow weary. They glorify (Him) by night and day; they are never languid.

GOD has proclaimed "Do not worship two gods; there is only one god. You shall reverence Me alone."
We did not send any messenger before you except with the inspiration "There is no god except Me; you shall worship Me alone."
Your congregation is but one congregation, and I alone am your Lord; you shall worship Me alone.
Such is your congregation - one congregation - and I am your Lord; you shall reverence Me.

It just rose my curiousity when Ramzi said the above. Then when you asked "Where is "me" used in reference to God from God's mouth?" I replied to you. It's really not an "issue".

Man is an individual, meaning an indivisible duality. Just like yin and yang, they are seperate but dependent upon each other. God created all things in pairs. There is a duality in all of creation. A metaphor is the day and night, day is our conciousness, night is our spirit/soul/subconcious/nafs, etc.
The Spirit(nafs) is our field of work, it is the focus, and God says that whoever purifies it succeeds and whoever corrupts it fails.
God also says that It will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in thier SPIRITS(subconcious)!!!
So the "night" is the object of focus. The setting of the Sun at dusk is the conciousness entering the subconcious in order to make changes...in ancient scripture it is the underworld. We travel through the "night" and exit again at dawn when the consciousness withdraws from the subconcious after having reprogrammed it. "Praising" an object in the sky somewhere does nothing, Going within your spirit and changing your behavior is the real praise of God and that is done by working with the spirit(night).

7626 And from the night you shall prostrate to Him and praise Him throughout.In 25th verse of the chapter 76 The EXalted God Most Just tells us to remember our Lord.
But in the next He tells us to prostrate to Him and praise Him throughout.When you pray you are remembering God... meaning that we pray for Gods rememberance... As He told Moses " Keep up the prayers for My rememberance"
We can also glorify our Lord trough prayer...prostartion... praise...ect.... when we do these things we are glorifyin Him.
In 7625 He tells us to remember His name mornin an eve ( throgh the prayers ) and in 25 He tells us to prostrate and praise Him... Praise Him can mean " bow down and worship Him, pray, glorify Him, to say "praise be to God" repeatedly, ect..." Hope im makin sence...
