ALLAH HAS ANSWERED YOUR PRAYER???????

I strongly believe in Allah and I would like for everyone who has experienced the following to mention something special about it
You've been in a situation where there is no "chance" or "luck" (in gambling terms) that you will get out of this! you pray to Allah and He answered your prayer and got you out completely sobhan Allah.
How patient did you have to be? and how long did it take for you? (i realise sometimes it's immediate and other times it takes years or maybe never, according to His will)

IMO, prayers are always answered, but sometimes we don't know it. When we pray a long time and nothing happens, sometimes we think we are not receiving an answer, when indeed we are (the answer being "no", but we cant' see that so we continue to pray for it.
Personally I can remember praying about a year for something with success in the end, thanks to God! Now I am in another situation where I have been praying about 4 months, with no results yet (that I can see).
One needs to be patient and know that God only gives what He allows, and we can never know when or what that is.
I also believe that we should use our brains. Just praying for something is often not enough. We need to get off our behinds and do the work needed to obtain what we want and/or need. Eating tons of junk food and being lazy about the home, then praying for God to keep us healthy is not the way. We should also being doing what we can to eat healthy and excercise. A good income will not fall into our laps if we sit at home and play video games. Ask God for help finding a good income, but then get out there and do the hard work to achieve it.
Same with messing things up... we should always ask God's help, but then we need to fix the mistake or correct the problem with our actions. We can't just pray for God to keep helping us clean up a mess we made if we don't do anything to help ourselves.
Now, if you're talking about getting out of a terrible situation that we did not create... then yes, maybe prayer is our only option. In that case I would pray for patience, courage and the strength to cope. I strongly believe that God never gives us more than we can handle and He will give us relief (when the time is right) that will erase all the hard times. We never know how long a hard time will last, and sometimes we don't even know what the lesson is. How long would I pray if I was in a terrible situation that I did not create? I really don't know, but I hope I would never give up and continue to trust in God throughout.

What always amazes me is how nothing ever goes as I plan. But things work out better due to God's will.
To me it doesn't matter if trivial prayers don't get answered because you know in your heart that it doesn't matter either way. But when it comes to the important prayers the ones where you desperately need mercy then I have never been let down. Some of these prayers have been so outrageous yet God still finds a way ) -

It depends, sometimes its up till breaking point. Other times you realise a major disaster was averted before you even have time to worry about it. Somethings I am praying about still haven't been answered but God willing one day.

my personal opinion about prayers to ALLAH
as-salamualaikum brother/sister,
first of all, what did you pray for? whatever you prayed for, is it something which will allow to get closer to ALLAH?
Didn't ALLAH tell us in the quran that this world is nothing but play and diversion and our real destiny is in afterlife?certain things are good for us which we may dislike and certain things are bad for us which we may like... so if ALLAH doesn't accept your prayer, it may have been for the better while you may not know.
btw, i don't disagree with anything being said so far in this topic.
