What's up with these Hadith/Prophecies about the End of Times?
-
Peace "dbrowser",
No need to be sorry JK, that's not all there is to it. See the basic premise we believe in is that the Quran is the only 100% reliable, undoctored text ever. Everything else - well man has touched it. That's why the hadith gets bashed, coz all said and done, its the result of man's efforts. So if we're not gonna believe the hadith, which the sunnis say is the result of intense scholarly work and an effort to preserve the prophets words, why do believe what we read in a science book, written by non believers - the same people who teach our kids in schools that we came from monkeys ? I mean if we're gonna reject something on the basis that it's man work and therefore unreliable, at least let's be consistent. It makes no sense to bash a hadith but then accept what research by non believers. Come on now! lol!
JK- We believe the Quran to be reliable because it is consistent with science in the first place. If the Quran contradicted modern science we would not have accepted it as true. On what basis would we accept the Quran as true if it had contradicted modern science? Regarding the theory of evolution that man evolved from apes did you know that Ibn-e-Kahldoun, AN ISLAMIC SCHOLAR, 500 years before Darwin came up with this theory. Here i quote from his book al-muqqadimmah(pg 74-75)
"This world with all the created things in it has a certain order and solid construction. It shows nexuses between causes and things caused, combinations of some parts of creation with others, and transformations of some existent things into others, in a pattern that is both remarkable and endless.""One should then take a look at the world of creation. It started out from the minerals and progressed, in an ingenious, gradual manner, to plants and animals. The last stage of minerals is connected with the first stage of plants, such as herbs and seedless plants. The last stage of plants, such as palms and vines, is connected with the first stage of animals, such as snails and shellfish which have only the power of touch. The word 'connection' with regard to these created things means that the last stage of each group is fully prepared to become the first stage of the newest group."
"The animal world then widens, its species become numerous, and, in a gradual process of creation, it finally leads to man, who is able to think and reflect. The higher stage of man is reached from the world of monkeys, in which both sagacity and preception are found, but which has not reached the stage of actual reflection and thinking. At this point we come to the first stage of man. This is as far as our (physical) observation extends."
You need to educate yourself more. The Quran fully supports evolution as it states that mankind was cerated in stages and started off from clay and then in the WOMB NOT as an adult. GOD Bless!

You make an error in saying all man-made articles should be neglected. How did you learn to compose a paragraph? How did you learn to add/subtract/multiply? You learnt it from Man. All knowledge is from God, but not all books should be neglected. What you should be specific in referring to is religious scriptures or what is claimed to be religious guidance. Because then it allows man to control other man through belief in what they write. And that is when it becomes dangerous. In the name God, there is nothing wrong with studying man made books about peoples understanding of the world around them, but it does NOT mean we should accept what we read immediately.
Peace...
Exactly. See I actually dont neglect man made articles at all. I know not everything in man made articles is correct, not everything is wrong. Which is why I have a problem with some hadith but not with all. The topic of conversation here is the hadith of the prophecies of the day of judgement and how what is mentioned in those hadith is apparantly coming true. Doesn't mean all hadith are right. But the problem here is, there's people such as Farida for e.g. who on this thread will outright reject a prophecy in a hadith (which is fine) but then when christian missionaries or the gita says there's going to be chaos after a big event, they'll believe that and start watching the olympics. Which to me is a contradiction.
Anyway not to divert from the topic. Let's keep it to the prophecies I discussed in my FIRST POST on this thread.

JK- I believe "farida" meant that sarcastically. It would ofcourse also be as ridiculous to take those prophecies seriously. GOD Bless!
-
Apologies then, that is what it appeared to be.
To keep on topic. I believe anything related to religious guidance that claims to be authentic, may seem authentic, believable, or credible, is another HADITH, beside God's HADITH. Believing in it gives you an INCREASED chance of being lead astray, because it is from a fallible being. The Qur'an is from an INfallible being. Therefore the only prophecies/revelations I need are from God, not Bukhari or any great Imam/scholar/person with an immaculate memory. All knowledge returns to God.

7187
They ask you about the Hour and when it is to come. Say 'None knows except my Lord. He alone will reveal it at the appointed time. It is heavy in the heavens and earth. It will not come to you but suddenly.' They will question you, as though you had full knowledge of it. Say 'Its knowledge is with Allah, though most people are unaware.'7187
They ask you about the Hour (Day of Resurrection) "When will be its appointed time?" Say "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord (Alone).None can reveal its time but He. Heavy is its burden through the heavens and the earth. It shall not come upon you except all of a sudden." They ask you as if you have a good knowledge of it.Say "The knowledge thereof is with All?h (Alone) but most of mankind know not." -

NO ? That means you didn't find it ?
Salam,
WOW. (in case this is unclear the exasperated "WOW" is in regards to your apparent misunderstanding of much of what is written)
No, it means that I won't do your research for you. Especially when you've been told repeatedly where to read.

Peace Soof,
The verse is a reply to dbrowser27's original question. All these minor signs / major signs rubbish cannot be taken seriously. There is no such thing as a sign for Judgement Day.
This does not make sense
Allah's Apostle replied, "The answerer has no better knowledge than the questioner. But I will inform you about its portents.
- When a slave (lady) gives birth to her master.
- When the shepherds of black camels start boasting and competing with others in the construction of higher buildings. And the Hour is one of five things which nobody knows except Allah.
If there are in fact any signs/indications/markers, wouldn't they be in the book that contains everything, that is fully detailed and contains every example?
)
In school, we were taught that the signs of end of times are
- Time will pass quicker, and people will not feel time (A year will feel like a month)
- Women will become disobedient, and will want there 'freedom'
- The sun will rise from the West instead of the East
Don;t make me laugh!!!
Right, this is my attempt at making up a few signs of end of times
- People will no longer step on God's earth
- People will not touch their money or the produce they sell/buy
- Musilms will die without reading the quran completely
In 100 years time, people can interpret my statements like this
The first refers to people living in high rise buildings with flying cars (The Fifth Element starring Bruce Willis )
The second means online shopping, where everything is electronic and you can buy your fruit and veg without actualy touching them or testing them.
The third is aimed at muslim youths who are more interested in tv, ipods, and internet.Regards
Ramzi -

I am in agreeance with you, I just didn't think the verse used was well-placed. I said before prophecies are like conspiracy theories. ANYONE can prove them and if you believe in them it serves for no purpose other than to entertain your mind. The end of the world is when you DIE. When you are raised again it is J-Day. That's it.

Peace Soof,
The verse is a reply to dbrowser27's original question. All these minor signs / major signs rubbish cannot be taken seriously. There is no such thing as a sign for Judgement Day.
Do they then wait for aught but the hour that it should come to them all of a sudden? Now indeed the tokens of it have (already) come, but how shall they have their reminder when it comes on them?
-
Do they then wait for aught but the hour that it should come to them all of a sudden? Now indeed the tokens of it have (already) come, but how shall they have their reminder when it comes on them?
The tokens/signs/indications/protents, have already come? What were they though?
Was it God's punishment in 4710 and 4713?
4710
Have they not travelled through the earth, and seen what was the end of those before them? All?h destroyed them completely and a similar (fate awaits) the disbelievers.4713
And many a town, stronger than your town (Makkah) (O Muhammad ) which has driven you out We have destroyed. And there was none to help them. And in 2751,52?
2751
Then see how was the end of their plot! Verily! We destroyed them and their nation, all together. These are their houses in utter ruin, for they did wrong. Verily, in this is indeed an Ay?h (a lesson or a sign) for people who know.
I do not believe in prophecies that will come true in a few years, or are coming true now, that indicate the Hour.
I believe in the signs that have happened, namely
-
Muhammed (our final prophet)
-
The Quran (confirming that the Hour will come)
-
All the stories/tales in the Quran which give us example after example after example of God's punishments for those who disbelieved in his Ayat.
Regards
Ramzi

-
Surah Al-Qiyamah (The Resurrection)
-
I swear by the Day of Resurrection;
-
And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer).
-
Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones?
-
Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers.
-
Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins.
-
He asks "When will be this Day of Resurrection?"
-
So, when the sight shall be dazed,
-
And the moon will be eclipsed,
-
And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light, etc.)
-
On that Day man will say "Where (is the refuge) to flee?"
-
No! There is no refuge!
-
Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day.
-
On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions).
-
Nay! Man will be a witness against himself .
-
Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds).
-
Move not your tongue concerning (the Qur'n, O Muhammad ) to make haste therewith.
-
It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad ) the ability to recite it (the Qur'n),
-
And when We have recited it to you , then follow you its (the Qur'n's) recital.
-
Then it is for Us (Allh) to make it clear to you,
-
Not , but (you men) love the present life of this world,
-
And leave (neglect) the Hereafter.
-
Some faces that Day shall be Ndirah (shining and radiant).
-
Looking at their Lord (Allh);
-
And some faces, that Day, will be Bsirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad),
-
Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them;
-
Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit),
-
And it will be said "Who can cure him and save him from death?"
-
And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death);
-
And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded)
-
The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allh)!
-
So he (the disbeliever) neither believed (in this Qur'n, in the Message of Muhammad ) nor prayed!
-
But on the contrary, he belied (this Qur'n and the Message of Muhammad ) and turned away!
-
Then he walked in full pride to his family admiring himself!
-
Woe to you ! And then (again) woe to you!
-
Again, woe to you ! And then (again) woe to you!
-
Does man think that he will be left Suda ?
-
Was he not a Nutfah (mixed male and female discharge of semen) poured forth?
-
Then he became an 'Alaqa (a clot); then (Allh) shaped and fashioned (him) in due proportion.
-
And made him in two sexes, male and female.
-
Is not He (Allh Who does that), Able to give life to the dead? (Yes! He is Able to do all things).
-

Peace "afridi",
I believe "ramzi" has given three good examples to show how general these predictions are. GOD Bless!Peace bro

The verse I quoted was in response to your original post that signs of judgement day are rubbish, that there's no such thing as a sign. Though you did confuse me by first posting that you believe that (quote) "There is no such thing as a sign for Judgement Day" and then later posting the signs which you believe have already happened (quote) "I believe in the signs that have happened, namely"
We can discuss maybe in another thread what the signs actually are - but the point is, to me the Quran indicates very clearly that there are SIGNS of the hour coming. For e.g. Gog and Magog will be one of the signs, since they are going to appear when the Hour is near (Surah Kahf). -

Salam,
ArnabYes I went and looked repeatedly where you and Farida "referenced" i.e. google and the geeta and the "what the christian missionaries" say. And I did NOT find the hadith prophecy I was discussing here. Farida and you apparently claim that the prophecies in the hadith are already in the christian texts and the gita, I am telling you that they are not! I'm sure there's some commonalities here and there between the hadith and the christian texts but the vast majority are different. For e.g. the one about bedouins competing to build tall buildings is not in them, or at least I did NOT find them so I had asked if you could please kindly direct me to them? But instead of doing that here you are telling me to "go search the gita" (YOU KNOW HOW EXTENSIVE THE GITA IS ????)
The truth is both of you are MAKING UP STUFF and thats WHY you can't provide a reference. If you had a reference you'd have provided it already. If this prophecy of bedouins competing to build tall buildings is in the gita or the christian texts as you claim they are, you would have shown it to me already. But you can't because you don't have a reference for something you made up. Needless to say your posts aren't trustworthy. If you wanna prove otherwise, just paste the reference from the gita or christian missionaries about the prophecy of bedouins competing to build tall building and I will happily stand corrected. Otherwise it's safe for me to conclude that you're just like the hadith believers who propogate heresay with no basis

JK- Sorry for my misunderstanding. Yes i know those ayas too BUT notice that they are IN REFERNCE TO THE DISBELIEVERS. To them the hour will come suddenly whilst they were arrogantly wandering in their fantasy world
Losers indeed are those who disbelieve in meeting GOD, until the Hour comes to them suddenly, then say, "We deeply regret wasting our lives in this world." They will carry loads of their sins on their backs; what a miserable load!
INFACT the hour can also refer to the point of ones death as per these verses in the same sura
When they thus disregard the message given to them, we open for them the gates of everything. Then, just as they rejoice in what was given to them, we punish them suddenly; they become utterly stunned.
Say, "What if GOD's retribution came to you suddenly, or after an announcement, is it not the wicked who incur annihilation?"Then theres this verse which was perhaps the one you meant
They* ask you about the hour , and when it will come to pass. Say, "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord. Only He reveals its time. Heavy it is, in the heavens and the earth. It will not come to you* except suddenly." They ask you as if you are in control thereof. Say, "The knowledge thereof is with GOD," but most people do not know.*From the previous verses we have seen that this "they" and "you" here refers to the disbelievers which is also reinforced by the context of the verse preceding 7187
Whomever GOD commits to straying, there is no way for anyone to guide him. He leaves them in their sins, blundering. 7187 THEY ask you...We also notice from 7187 that GOD does reveal its time. GOD Bless!
