How does one seek forgiveness?

There are two daily prayers that are obligatory. Outside of these one can pray any time of the day or night, even unceasenly. The late night additional prayer is the greatest in rank in the Quran.
This late night prayer / or to seek forgiveness late night is proof. As you can see from the verses above.
The practice of the great and pious people. None of these should be ommited whithout legitament reason. However, if it is ommited then there is no sin.

315 Say ?Shall I inform you of what is greater than all this? For those who believe in their Lord will be estates with rivers flowing beneath, in them they abide eternally, and with pure mates, and an acceptance from God. And God is watcher over the servants.?
The ones who say ?Our Lord, we believe, so forgive us our sins, and spare us the retribution of the Fire.?
The patient, and the truthful, and the dutiful, and the givers, and the seekers of forgiveness in the late hours of the night.5115 The righteous are in paradises and springs.
Receiving what their Lord has bestowed to them, for they were before that pious.
They used to rarely sleep the whole night.
And before dawn, they would seek forgiveness.Salaam,
In the translation I read it says "at dawn" in both, not "late hours of the night" or "before dawn".
I'm not saying mine is the correct translation, just showing the difference in translations.

And some part of the night awake for it, a largess for thee. It may be that thy Lord will raise thee to a praised estate.
And say My Lord! Cause me to come in with a firm incoming and to go out with a firm outgoing. And give me from Thy presence a sustaining Power.
And say Truth hath come and falsehood hath vanished away. Lo! falsehood is ever bound to vanish.
1779-81I don't think it is the greatest in "rank", I didn't know there were ranks... But I understand that giving time out of your sleep in the early hours of the night is hard to do. Which is why the God commends it and gives rewards for it.

Yea i think i read a translation before that said at dawn, i have to study them verses. But if this translation is correct then everything is what it is.

No matter what evidence you bring that dont mean everyone go believe.
should I say " the late night seek forgiveness "? Instead of prayer, when they mean the same thing? Prayer,commune,supplicate, implore, exc... all mean the same thing.
315 describes His servants as those who seek forgiveness in the late hours of the night ( if it really means late night instead of dawn).
also 5115 prohesises the rigteous, describing them as pious people who used to rarly sleep the whole night and as people who would seek forgiveness before dawn when they were alive.

No im not refering to 1779-81, that verse is talikng about the dawn prayer and reading to my understanding.
The reason i say the greatest in rank, because outside of the formal dawn and evening prayers, this late night prayer/ or to seek forgiveness late night is mentioned specifically, while one can pray at any time in the night and day.As additional prayers.

9103 Take from their money a charity to purify them and develop them with it, and commune over them; for your communion is a tranquility for them; and God is Hearer, Knowledgeable.
9104 Did they not know that it is God who accepts repentance from His servants, and He takes the charities, and that God is the Pardoner, Merciful.It is possible that asking for forgiveness is linked to the "communion" judging by the above verses. The first verse talks about taking charity and communing over the believers. The second verse talks about how God takes the charities and accepts the repentance. It seems to me as though this verse is trying to say that although the messengers Communion is a source of tranquility, actually (did they not know) God accepts repentance from all his servants so believers should not feel that their own communions are "worth less" so to speak.

This is what I got,
Transliteration Wabial-ashari hum yastaghfiroona
Literal And at the times at end of night before dawn they ask for forgiveness.
Free Minds And before dawn, they would seek forgiveness.
And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness,
And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness,
pray for forgiveness in the early morning,And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness;
At dawn, they prayed for forgiveness.
and at dawn would ask forgiveness,
And at dawn they prayed for pardon,
and asked for forgiveness in the early morning.
and early in the morning they asked pardon of God
and in the mornings they would ask for forgiveness;
And in the morning they asked forgiveness.
And in the morning they asked (Divine) protection.

I think to "seek" is more of an intention. For example, they were woke late night waiting for the dawn salat to start. To "seek" and to litearly "ask" is differerent. So I changed, I dont think there is a late night salat. I believe these verses are describing them as being up and ready and waiting paitiently for salat to start. Rather than salating late night as additional salat, and then salating dawn... A good example is a job. A good worker is on time if not early and is rarly late. They take there time and others seriously.... And they keep their appointments and commitments.
