Why believe in God?
-
I don't believe in god, but if you mean Creator in general, it's because I can perfectly understand and agree with it. It's perfectly reasonable to me.
-
How did I determine? It simply made perfect sense to me, I guess you could call it logic, it was logical to me.
And no, there's nothing supernatural about energy.
Allah is the transfinite overarching dichotomised conscious purity that manifests all creation instant by instant from the inside-out. The fact that I want to be a storywriter also helps me to understand that definition more.
And yes, I believe in evolution. But I doubt you know in which Islam I believe in. It's nothing about rituals, superstitions, or other illogical things like that. It has to do a lot with science, actually the majority of things are explained with it.
-
Why do you believe in God? I have found no reason to believe any God actually exist, and why would you believe a book at face value? I don't get this, and I'm honestly interested in the responses to this.
The red highlight above is from me.
Peace dear Nectar. welcome
Please contemplate the two brief articles through the links below. They may be a bit helpful to start a constructive dialogue to whether it makes sense to believe in GOD or not.

There is not a single shred of proof that God exists. BUT you must choose to live as if God exists, or as if God does not exist. There is no moral/ethical choice you can make aside from these two options. If you choose to live as if there is no God, then "good" is defined according to evolutionary biology - which is driven by survival of the fittest. Have fun living in a state of violent or coercive competition with your peers while trying to get reproductive rights. The other option is to live as if God exists. This means the adoption of certain values not found in a Darwinian existence.

This would only be said by someone who is deeply inked and affected by conventional physics and the traditional understanding of the universe, perhaps it would be good if you let that apart and studied the phenomenons of quantum mechanics.
Secondly, how simplistic your view is amazes me (if you believe in a 'God' then through religions you understand morality, what is good and what is bad. - if you do not believe in a 'God' then you cannot know what is good and what is bad, since you disregard the texts). You must have not put thought into it much, it shames me even to have read such from a ''muslim''.

Are you insisting that the concepts of ethics and morality can't exist without the belief in a deity?
For the record, there are plenty of moral, upstanding nonbelievers all over the world - but as there are plenty of immoral, criminal theists. The current states of the Islamic and Christian worlds illustrate this very well... The concepts of "good" and "bad", in a subjective sense, are generally determined by tradition and upbringing. Your argument is nonsensical.
If we merely base the concept of morality as being dependent on a supernatural person or entity, then how do we make the determination that there aren't many gods (and goddesses too)?
Contrary to your statement, there is a "grey area" too. Plenty of people choose to ignore the concept of divinity altogether. They don't live life as if there is a god (per se), but they don't live as if there isn't one either (whatever that means). They just ignore the idea completely; and, until they discover that there is one for a certainty, they enjoy the life they have right now, while still upholding the traditions and values that they choose to conform to... In either case, though, I don't see this as having anything to do with morality. Living life as if no god exists merely means avoiding certain rituals and superstitions inherent in religious communities and belief systems. Living life as if there is a god merely means following the guidance of whatever book, prophet, messenger, minister, pastor, etc. that you choose to adhere to.

Peace Maverick Monotheist.
Proof exist, but most people do not believe. Some people in past generations saw miracles and still they did not believe( GOD? Designer of the universe? Surely HE will leave some kind of proof? Sign?)
( Phi, ? constant- = 1.61803? is the creator s signature on all HIS designs i.e The golden ratio? Science has proved ? See Dr Steven Markout 25 year study- that the relative ratio 1.61803? relates to all created structure of our universe. Also the sequence 0,1,1,2,3,5,8,? ? The work of Fibonacci, also called the sequence of nature, has a connection with the golden ratio ? See science research on flowers, spirals, DNA, etc?- The golden ratio and Fibonacci sequence permeates throughout the universe in both organic and inorganic worlds and at all scales and levels to such a degree that the probability of this being chance/ coincidence is virtually impossible. Hence a Designer, Creator exists.}
( What is even more interesting is the connection of the natural sequence 0,1,1,2,3,5,8,? with 19 ? 19 is a special number that this Designer/ Creator uses as part of the code ? Remember the emphasis on ONE GOD- Well 19 is the geometrical value- number value- of ONE in most languages, Hebrew, Aramaic, Arabic etc..( check it, Google it.. )
There is more, but I am trying to start you off. You can find more proof if you search.
You are right in saying we have the choice. We can choose GOD or "others".
Peace.

I didn't, and i was an atheist most of my life, thinking that God was irrational and nonsensical and just a way of explaining things before modern science, but then i eventually came to realise that God isn't that nonsensical, and eventually i came to realise that it does in fact make more sense than atheist.
I am still not 100% certain in belief in God, but genuinely i do believe God exists. Hopefully God will forgive my doubts.

If one does not believe in A Creator, then a question for him/her,
Which one is more genius, the human or the nature?? -
salaam/peace,

Peace all.
Keep searching, GOD is always there waiting, the decision is yours.
GOD has given all of us the freedom of choice. For those that choose to seek HIM

Peace lordfox.
This forum is open to all who wish to take part.May be some atheists see this as" GOD ALONE" site and choose not to bother.
Also, what is not productive, is making a comment without producing a good argument / proof to back up your claim/opinion.
May the Lord guide us to do better.
Peace. -
Because there is just something inside of me that tells me there is something greater than all of this
-Working my butt off to pay bills everyday
-Dealing with illnesses
-Hatred, crime and apathyI can't imagine how a person could not become seriously depressed and hopeless waking up every day and having THAT to look forward to. brickwall
I am, however, beginning to rethink my idea of God, especially since the last two years of my life have caused me to view Him as severely authoritarian. How many times are we told that He is forgiving and merciful in the Qu'ran? I was never the type to serve God out of fear of burning in hell... but I do fear losing His favor, if I have managed to do anything to deserve any favor.

How can't I believe God after every impossible becomes possible?
What exactly became possible that was previously possible? The mere fact that an event occurs actually takes it outside the realm of impossibilities and puts it in the realm of possibilities.
If I say it's impossible for lightning to strike twice, and then lightning strikes twice that doesn't mean the impossible happened. It simply means my initial statement was incorrect because by the mere fact of its occurence, it stopped being impossible.
As for the idea that there must be something greater that isn't really any type of evidence it's just wishful thinking and probably a result of evolutionary biology. Even neanderthals tens of thousands of years ago had burial rights which means they had a concept of death and possibly an afterlife.
Our brains as social creatures are actually naturally receptive to the things that religions and superstitious beliefs offer us.
I used to believe strongly in God but now I doubt and question everything.

Well then call me a big, fat neanderthal then...and a wishful thinker... because that is all I have D And I actually admire the fact that you question everything. That is something I am learning to be comfortable with.
