Bilal please be patient don?t get harsh on him he is a converter and still learning if his translation is wrong just advise him politely.

    peace hail

    Peace.

You're correct about the translation being wrong, and it would be excusable if he was not aware of the truth. But he has written a complete fabrication and called it The God's word. I've never seen ANY TRANSLATION that says what he has stated. He has deliberately mistranslated the words of God, and AR-RAHMAN will surely be the judge of what is right and wrong.

"And cover not truth with falsehood, nor conceal the truth when you know." (al-Qur'an 242)

    Also,

"Some of the Jews pervert words from their meanings saying, 'We have heard and we disobey' and 'Hear, and be you not given to hear' and 'Observe us,' twisting with their tongues and traducing religion. If they had said, 'We have heard and obey' and 'Hear' and 'Regard us,' it would have been better for them, and more upright; but God has cursed them for their unbelief so they believe not except a few." (al-Qur'an 446)

His statements are misleading, and he has created them intentionally with the purpose of turning the believers away from the words in al-Qur'an-Majeed. Your patience with him, however, is surely a virtue, and The God never forgets the righteous deeds of His submitters.

    Peace,

    Ahmad

If he is distorting the meaning intentionally then god is the best judge. But even musa was advised by god to speak politely with Faroon. Show him the right translation if he accepts then he is not doing that intentional
      Peace

        Peace to all...

AW, why are you speaking falsehoods on here, creating your own Scriptures? Has The God given you His word that you may change what He Himself has spoken?

Al-Qur'an-Majeed does not say this at all. This is a completely fabricated Scripture, and you have altered The God's words to fit your own beliefs. You are no different from the Sunnis, who alter al-Qur'an to fit their schools of thought. What you have spoken is flagrant blasphemy.

These are not the words of God, these are you own words. You have created a false Scripture to mislead others. Has Ar-Rahman instructed you to change the words that He has spoken? Have you made yourself a partner alongside The God, capable of altering His decrees? God is the Judge of the wicked, and He will surely punish the transgressors.

To you is your works and to me is mine. If I have spoken blasmy then I am responsible for my crime and u yours... And God is my Lord and your Lord, so serve him. There is no argument between me and you... The truth has come from your Lord...So let whoever wills believe and whoever reject...

O.K. so how long are we commanded to fast??? Huh???

( And also if you were to look further in the same verse of 2184 "so numbered from other months..." tells that Quran is refering to a " month " in the previous sentance...to my understandin)

2183 O you who believe, you are ordered to fast just as those before you, it could be that you are fearful and obeidient.

2184 (For an) entire period of time. / For a term to be completed. / For a complete term./ For a undivided period of time./For a whole month./ a prescribed period of time... Whoever from among you is ill or traveling;then (what was missed) in the other months. And as for those who cannot do without, then they may redeem by feeding any of the poorest of the poor. And whoever gives alms voluntarily, then it is best for him. And it is best that you fast, if you are able.

2185 The Quran was sent down in the month of Rahmadan, to guide the people and to clarify the guidance and the Difference between whats Right and Wronge. So one should fast the whole month (of Rahmadan ), whoever of you witnesses it. And whoever from among you is ill or traveling; then (what was missed ) in the other months.
God wants to bring you flexibility and not to bring you hardship; and so that you may complete the term, and glorify God for what He has guided you, that you may be thankful.

The term "month" means completely different things to different people. It is a completely arbitrary term. On the other hand, the god's message is universal. Please see the following article for a more correct translation of the passages that you attempted to translate

          http//www.free-minds.org/articles/science/timing.htm

          I hope this helps.

            How am I misleading others???

Are those who know equal to those who dont know???

U can call me what u want, but the only thing u go bear witness of me sayin is " I am a muslim " and " I only call on my Lord, and I do not associate anyone with Him."

Are those who know that 2184 is refering to a " whole month " equal to those who dont know??? And I do not ask for a wage for it; my wage is from God , and He is witness over all things....

nope I dont want no wage for it, you all can keep it...............

I feel like I would be concealin the truth if I didnt make clear that this is what is referin to... How am I concealin the truth by makin the truth known??? Huh?????????????????????????????

Is it a whole month we are to fast or not?

2184 You are ordered to fast for a whole month!

            2184 (The) times to fast ( is ) made known/ recorded/ commanded; ..............

2185 month of Rahmadan............................So one should fast the ( whole ) month ( of Rahmadan ), whoever from among you witnesses it...

No, it's not the truth. You have taken The God's words, and you have added your own words to them. Nowhere in the reading does it say "whole month" or anything of this sort, it tells us to abstain the period of ramadhan. Al-Qur'an doesn't say this period is a month long... You have completely altered the Scripture to your own liking. Where does the verse (2185) say the words "For one month"?

2184 You are ordered to fast for a whole month!

These are your words, not God's, and The God is certainly aware of those who alter His revelations.

                  Peace.

                    What?

what does 2185 say? It says clearly to me that Rahmadan = a month... And that one should fast this month ( of Rahmadan ). The month the Quran was desended in.... If u could only understand....

                    What part dont u understand?

And dont be hasty with Quran...

And like farida said, you better have paitence upon yourself regarding those who go meet their Lord dawn and dusk seeking His precence...

And you also better be careful as well as u others of what you accuse a person of... And had it not been for Gods favor upon u a great retribution would have took u for what u have spoken... For u have cast it with your tongue, and u say what u have no knowledge of, and u think it is a minor issue, while wit The God it was great...

And at the same time, gather ur evidence, and judge me, and dont hold back...Just be sure ur evedence dont come against u...and remind, for your reminder benifits the believers... And also keep on giving warnings... But just dont move your tounge with it to make haste....

We all know that " times" = term, days, months, years, hour, period ect... ( therefore the translator must use one of these words or other words that are linked... By me having knowledge that this " time" or " term" is indeed refering to a month, thus month is the word I choose insetad of period of time, years, term, a days ect...for it is clearer for the people I believe.)

And in no way that my use of the word " month " in place of " times or term or period" is a lie...and 2185 confirms this...

So is Rahmadan a month or not? Was it a " month" of Rahmadan that the Quran was sent down in or what?

Does 2185 instruct us to fast the ( specific ) month or not?

Are those who know equal to those who dont know? Do you not think???

O My servants who have believed, be aware of your Lord.

So keep it up, and keep preaching to us brother. May God guide us all to the truth as we perceive it to be.

This is the problem with your doings - "shahru ramadhan" is not a "month", and nowhere in al-Qur'an does it say to fast for a "whole month". This is conjecture. By substituting the words with other words, you completely changed the entire meaning of the Scripture, and The God is certainly aware of those who alter His translations... You say that it is clearer to write a "month", but if God's true meaning was not a "month", then you have forged a falsehood, and God will certainly judge the wicked. God (The High) doesn't run out of ink for His Scriptures, as His qur'an has taught us... A "qur'an" is a recitation, something read or recited. If you believe it was was spoken over a month-long period, then believe as you will. If you want to hold onto the traditional view of "ramadhan" being a specific month in the Islamic calendar, desiring to abstain on these days throughout this month, then believe and do as you desire... But don't alter The God's words, because you are only misleading others to the path of doom. Let each person study al-Qur'an and interpret it as they wish, and The God will surely guide the righteous. By changing the words, you only turn people towards YOUR BELIEFS, and these may not be correct. That would make you guilty of leading people to destruction. And The God is certainly the witness of all things...

                            Peace.

By changing the words, you only turn people towards YOUR BELIEFS, and these may not be correct. That would make you guilty of leading people to destruction. And The God is certainly the witness of all things...

                              Peace.

                              is this not the truth

2183 O you who believe, you are ordered to fast as those before you, it could be that you are fearful and obedient.

2184 A designated term; so whoever from among you is ill or traveling; then complete the number at other times; and as for those who cannot do without, then they may redeem by feeding any of the poorest of the poor, and whoever gives alms voluntarily, then it is best for him, and it is best that you fast, if you are able.

2185 The Quran was sent down in the month of Rahmadan, to guide the people and to clarify the guidance and the Difference between Right and Wronge. So one should fast the month, whoever of you witnesses it. And whoever from among you is ill or traveling; then complete the number on other days.
God wants to bring you ease and not to bring you hardship; and so that you may complete the term, and glorify God for what He has guided you, that you may be thankful.

Transliteration Shahru ramadana allathee onzila feehi alqur-anu hudan lilnnasi wabayyinatin mina alhuda waalfurqani faman shahida minkumu alshshahra falyasumhu waman kana mareedan aw AAala safarin faAAiddatun min ayyamin okhara yureedu Allahu bikumu alyusra wala yureedu bikumu alAAusra walitukmiloo alAAiddata walitukabbiroo Allaha AAala ma hadakum walaAAallakum tashkuroona

Why don't you translate the word "ramadan"? After all, this is the most important word in the passage to understand the timing.

"RMDh" = "extreme/intense/blazing heat; scorching heat"

                                      peace

The word comes from the root RMDh and the various forms share a common thread of "hot", "scorching" and "red hot". So for example, when someone has a red eye, his eyes are said to be "RMDhT". It is also used to describe someone who has a fever as well as red glowing hot coals.

As Ahmad indicated above RMDhAN means scorching. I would like to add that there are two main connotations of the word "heat" and the color "red". So now can you retranslate 2185 with the correct meaning of the word RMDhAN as "red hot"?

                                      Peace,

                                      Ayman

                                        Peace all,

this what I get so far. It goes somthin like this

2183 O you who believe, you are ordered to fast as those before you, it could be that you are fearful and obedient.

2184 At certain times; so whoever from among you is ill or traveling; then finish at other times; and as for those who cannot do without, then they may redeem by feeding any of the poorest of the poor, and whoever gives alms voluntarily, then it is best for him, and it is best that you fast, if you are able.

2185 The Quran was sent down in the hottest month, to guide the people and to clarify the guidance and the Difference between Right and Wronge. So one should fast the month, whoever of you witnesses it. And whoever from among you is ill or traveling; then finish on other days.
God wants to bring you ease and not to bring you hardship; and so that you may complete the term, and glorify God for what He has guided you, that you may be thankful.

Does it say in the Quran that you can eat after sunset, until sunrise during your "fast"?
