    Salaam to everyone here...

This is my first post in this forum... therefore an intro...

I am born in Sunni muslims community... And not the ordinary sunnis... But the ones who perform all kind of additions in God's chosen religion for mankind like celebrating Yawm un Nabi( prophets birthday) and many other days of the the like....

Then someday, before i reach my teenage, family heard some lectured and we reverted back to tawheed... Still sunnis, but we bannish all kind of innovations and additions in the deen... Trying to filter all kind of shirk that had infiltrated the deen from all these years... But still, our faith is still based on the Quran and Hadith..... That did not end here... Later, I started to follow the salafi ideology... and seemed to like it for a while...

But during all these days, there were always some hadith not 'fitting' in my head... but since we learned not to question such hadith... the right way at that time was to simply pass by these hadith without knocking the head on them and try to rationalise them... Some say that not all things in islam has to follow logic... this is where the faith is based... so i kept moving.... And little by little... when I look back now... I see that I have been moving away from hadiths because some were totally incompatible with al-islam....

This is my path... From Sunnis(100% hadith, almost no verification, lots of innovation) -> Tawheed (rejects weak and false hadiths, many innovations abandoned) -> Salafi( reject many weak hadith and stick to the 1st three generation as from the Prophet-pbuh, BAN all inovations in the light of Quran and Hadith) ---> now am here...where next ??

Till the day I find this site... or forum... it almost aroused a new sense in me... Since then... not long... few weeks ago... I have been reading the articles in the main site... I am greatly amazed how the things start flowing in my head... Since I have studied arabic, islamic history(a little) and many hadiths... I am finding it very easy to sort through things... And to my great astonishment... this deen ... Al-Islam is becoming very simple and easy to follow...

Now I have a new perspective open in front of me... And my research goes on... I am already discussing things with my friends and relatives... sometimes really hot debates... ) So far... I have not embraced the Quran Only system... although it is very logical and everything makes sense... I may say that i am in a 'transition' process... All my swalaat etc are sunni-like... The studies go on... I will surely be posting questions etc very soon... And I sincerely hope that you, brothers and sisters of faith... will help me and provide good responses....

    Jazaakumoullahou khayr....

      Peace to all,

Greetings and welcome to the forum Wayfinder, your journey has just begun, not ending. Keep following that inner voice that led you away from all the false fetters you experienced and keep asking God to guide you even closer to him in truth. The Quran says God does not want us to have hardship in our religion, and that he places no burden harder than our own souls can bare. So join in the topics and contribute your own thoughts, together we will work things out. Like the Quran says, Behold, all things tend towards God.

      Kurt

            Salaam Wayfinder

Welcome to the forum I hope you will enjoy being here, and that you will continue your search for knowledge and truth and never be satisfied with standing still. At first many things may seem alien to you, but ask god to show you the way, and be patient. Patience is the key to most of the different successes we attain in our life. And humbleness too. Humbleness is also one of the keys to spiritual growth, because it will make us strive to learn more and more. The opposite, arrogantness will make us stop growing because the arrogant behaviour will fool us to believe we are right when we actually are wrong, or that we know everything when we might have no clue. And know one knows everything, and life is a never-ending search for knowledge and truth. Two other bad things that will make us not grow spiritually are doubting and being too sceptical. This is something i have personally experienced. Doubting when all facts are clear will strangle any growth and progress in our lives

4034 ?And Joseph had come to you before with proofs, but you remained in doubt regarding what he came to you with, until when he died, you said ?God will not send any messenger after him.? It is such that God sends astray he who is a transgressor, doubter.?

5025 Denier of good, transgressor, doubter.

At the same time, we shouldn't accept anything blindly, so being a critical thinker is good for us

1736 And do not uphold what you have no knowledge of. For the hearing, eyesight, and mind, all these you are responsible for.

I would like to share some sites about islam based on Quran alone with you

Thanks for these nice words from all of you.... Really appreciate them... Hope God will bless us with Paradise and keep us among those whom he has guided....

Thanks for the links David... So far... Am still reading the articles on main free-minds site.... I don't try to read all of them as fast as possible... I rather read them little by little and move when things have digested... There are many many things to read... But Praise be to God... All these have opened my mind... A new perspective to see things which i think is the oldest and best perspective to see things... Al-Quran should be our microscope...

I ask Allah to grant me knowledge that will be beneficial to me and protect me from knowledge which will lead me astray....
