Lets study 6:112 - Al An'3aam
-
Salaamun Alaykum
Brothers and Sister,
I have been studying this verse 6112 which read as follows...
Wakathalika jaAAalna likulli nabiyyin AAaduwwan shayateena al-insi waaljinni yoohee baAAduhum ila baAAdin zukhrufa alqawli ghurooran walaw shaa rabbuka ma faAAaloohu fatharhum wama yaftaroona
PickthallThus have We appointed unto every prophet an adversary - devils of humankind and jinn who inspire in one another plausible discourse through guile. If thy Lord willed, they would not do so; so leave them alone with their devising;
Y.Ali Likewise did We make for every Apostle an enemy, - evil ones among men and jinns, inspiring each other with flowery discourses by way of deception. If thy Lord had so planned, they would not have done it so leave them and their inventions alone.
Khalifa We have permitted the enemies of every prophet - human and jinn devils - to inspire in each other fancy words, in order to deceive. Had your Lord willed, they would not have done it. You shall disregard them and their fabrications.
Alhamdoulillah, after finding guidance, my approach to the Quraan has indeed changed... When I study a verse, I look for the root, cross check in the dictionaries to find the best translations etc....
The 6112 has been translated well mostly except for the bold part... Because in the dictionary FATARA does not mean to fabricate/fabrications etc.. I also look in the PRL list and the translation does not see to be accurate...
However, I came to 1 noun derived from the root FATARA which is FATRAH( faa-taa-raa-taa marbootwa) and among the many meanings I found debility and indifference ... So what you guys think...
".... leave them and their debility/foolishness" seems to fit in the above verse...
Would like to get your input and suggestions...
Allah knows best....

I always understood it to mean fabricate/invent.
- So what does the dictionary say about F-T-R?
- The word is a verb. It should be; "so leave them and what they ...".

Here is what I get
