Regarding the fate of your disbelieving friends & relatives.
-
Hello all.
I'm currently reading the Quran. I have reached sura four.
A question has come to my mind, a question that I don't think further reading will answer (but correct me if I'm wrong).
Throughout my text here below, I will use quote-marks ("..." to emphasize words from the Quran. No sarcasm is intended; my questions are fully serious!
I'm guessing that you who are reading this is a "special kind" of muslim, which only means that you don't regard yourself as Shia or Sunni. You think yourself as a Monotheist. This makes me to guess that people like you live a little bit all over the planet, and are all from different origins. Some of you may not even be of middle eastern origin.
As diverse group as you may be, I'm guessing that your friends make an even more diverse group!
We should be able to find a lot of people among your frineds, ranging from muslims to christians, jews, hindus, buddhists, simply idealists, atheists, materialists, sympathizer of political ideologies leaning slightly to the left/right, capitalists, communists, evolutionists, well you name it!
A lot of these fall directly under the category of being "disbelievers/rejecters/wicked" according to the Quran, and you probably consider some of these as your very very close and dear friends.
So my question boils down to this how do you cope with the fact that if these friends of yours continue on this path, then they will for sure "be the fuel of the Fire", in straight words burn in hell?
I'm guessing that some of you would say "only God knows who WILL burn in hell and who will enter Paradise", meaning that perhaps your friends will convert in the future.
Well then I ask you to consider friends or relatives that have passed away, and who said that they did not believe in God or any such entity until their moment of death came and passed.
All of these people have two thing in common You loved them very much and they will begin to burn in hell on the day of resurrection.
To extend this question with a follow-up the Quran assures us that if we continue on the path of the righteous (believe in God, believe in the day of Resurrection, and do good and no evil) then we "have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve".
That doesn't feel right if you got a good friend or two (already dead or alive) that will burn in hell because they did not believe in God? I think that is something pretty big to grieve and to definitely fear, even in the "Paradise" of the "Hereafter"!?
The few possibilities that I can see are as follows either the human consciousness is not the same in the hereafter, meaning that you will not be able to remember your friends or feel sorrow for their destiny, or either you will burn in hell too just because you were a friend of such people (the latter is extremely unlikely, since pure logic would state that more or less all of us would burn in hell).
Thank you for any response.

Hello and peace,
On the day of judgment people will not worry about anyone but themselves. In fact even when I had an emotional breakdown a few years ago I was only concerned/fearful for myself. Friends and family became insignificant(even my twin who has been my friend since my birth did not matter to me). Thats just the reality of what happens when you fear for your soul. The hereafter is just so much more important. Another example of how something can become insignificant is high school. I remember in high school every exam was important, your friends were as well. Yet looking back I barely talk to the people I used to know, the problems of high school also seem insignificant when compared to my current situation.8033 So when the screaming shout comes.
8034 The Day when a person will run from his brother.
8035 And his mother and father.
8036 And his mate and children.
8037 For every person on that Day is a matter that concerns him.
8038 Faces on that Day which are openly displayed.
8039 Laughing and seeking good news.
8040 And faces on that Day with dust on them.
8041 Being burdened by remorse.
8042 Those are the rejecters, the wicked.23101 So when the horn is blown, then there will be no kinship between them on that Day, nor will they ask for one another.
2925 And he said ?You have taken idols besides God in order to preserve some friendship among you in this worldly life. But then, on the Day of Resurrection, you will disown one another, and curse one another. Your destiny is Hell, and you will have no victors.
So like you worded it "your human consciousness" will no longer care about the earthly concerns.

Peace purerumble,
just some points to consider-
Wanting absolutly that our friends and relatives believe in the god is somewhat depriving them of their right to choose their ideology.
-
You can feel (or see) when you have a friend or a relative in situations of extrem stress, and most of the time it is from his deeds. "Hell" is in this very life also.
-
Same for "paradise", some other people do live a peaceful life because of their deeds.
-
When we don't believe in the possibility of existence of at least a creator, how then do we came to exist? Pure chance? Then one might also think that it is highly probable that a dinosaur might pop-up in his living-room anytime, just out of the blue!! Atheism is illogical. Polytheism is more logical than that.
-
And sure, it is difficult to live in such environments, when you see people you love are suffering (even when they are responsible of their suffering). But we should be loving the truth (the god) even more, more then ourselves or our loved ones.
-
I don't "know" what is hapening after death, but I believe some will return to the god the origin and others will just cease to exist. These processes might take some "time", thus feeling joy or pain while in the process.
And sure, your questions are answered in "al-quran" in more details, all you need is patience and willingness to find the truth.

Well done;
I would like to add the following
(
It is not fitting, for the prophet and those who believe, that they should pray for forgiveness for pagans, even though they be of kin, after it is clear to them that they are companions of the Fire. (9-113)An Example
And Noah called upon his Lord and said "O my Lord! surely my son is of my family! and Thy promise is true and Thou art the Justest of Judges!" (45) He said "O Noah! he is not of thy family for his conduct is unrighteous. So ask not of Me that of which thou hast no knowledge! I give thee counsel, lest thou become one of the ignorant!" (46) Noah said "O my Lord! I do seek refuge with Thee from asking Thee for that of which I have no knowledge. And unless Thou forgive me and have Mercy on me, I should indeed be lost!" (11-47)
Thus, our love for God should exceed our love to anythig, including our kids.
and if we do not, then we are not true believers yet.Peace
