Men Sura 4:34 states 'No Beating of Women' in anyway, shape, form or fashion

I would like to share my perceptions regarding the common mis-perception and mis-interpretation of Sura Nisa 434 that Allah suggests that Women can be physically, spiritually and mentally abused.

From that time We have written over the children of Israel that surely who kills that soul / which is without soul or is without causing corruption on the earth then surely it is like the one who has killed all mankind And who gives life to her (soul) then surely it is like the one who has given life to all mankind / .

Allah is indicating that harming an 'innocent soul' is equivalent to harming all humankind, and any who gives life to humanity, contributes to humanity.

O mankind! reverence your Guardian-Lord, who created you from a single soul/ created of like nature, its mate, and from that soul created countless men and women;- reverence Allah, through whom you demand your mutual (rights), AND REVERENCE THE WOMBS (AL-Arhama)/ . for Allah ever watches over you.

Its obvious that Allah is illustrating the close association with Allah and female creation in Sura 4.1, and even makes it clear that Allah is at all times 'watching'

What is Allah 'watching'?

Alrrijalu qawwamoona AAala alnnisa-i bima faddala Allahu baAAdahum AAala baAAdin wabima anfaqoo min amwalihim fa alssalihatu qanitatun hafithatun lil ghaybi bima hafitha Allahu / wa allatee takhafoona nushoozahunna faAAithoohunna waohjuroohunna fee almadajiAAi WA I?DRIBOOHUNNA fa-in ataAAnakum fala tabghoo AAalayhinna sabeelan inna Allaha kana AAaliyyan kabeeran

Allah is watching and guarding Salihatu (active participle, female, plural) the righteous woman

There is no soul / nafsin (feminine) but has a protector over it / AAalayha (feminine) hafithun.

Lets focus on this part of the ayah, which for some reason has been GROSSLY mistranslated....

Sura 4.34...... takhafoona nushoozahunna fa AAithoohunna waohjuroohunna fee almadajiAAi WA I?DRIBOOHUNNA /

Takhafoona = If YOU Fear nushoozahunna fa AAithoohunna = treating someone cruel and UNMANLY wa ohjuroohunna = Avoid associating or acting irrational fee = like those/among those Al-MadajiAAi = A MAN WHO BEATS OR STRIKES PAINFULLY WA I?DRIBOOHUNNA = AVOID ANY CONFRONTATION

Takhafoona(imperfect, 2nd person, singular) If YOU fear; Dictionary of the Holy Quran page 168 (khafa)
Nushoozahunna (plural) treat injustly, be unkind, be cruel and evil companion;Dictionary of the Holy Quran page 564 (nashaza)
faAAithoohunna to be rough, rude, hardhearted, harsh, UNMANLY, severe;Dictionary of the Holy Quran page 430 (fazza)

It this point, Allah is instructing Men as to their behavior

Allah is instructing Men NOT to behave like Men who have no regard or respect for their mates by abusing them. There is no 'rights' being given to Men to admonish or punish women in the ayah.

Those Men who believe they can beat and abuse women will have to deal with Allah.
