I am Sahcrel, and I am new to this site, and to Islam. I was born into a Christian family, but I've always believed that Jesus was a wise teacher and a true prophet of God, but not God and not God's son, and that the Bible had been corrupted to support false beliefs in a god beside God. Because of the Bible's corruption, I knew I could never be a Christian, or a follower of any religion that relied on any part of the Bible, Old Testament or New. After some time of contemplating, I realized that the true religion is in my own nature and the nature of every human. I followed my nature and began researching Islam more fully than I had before. In most forms of Islam, what I found was many lies mixed in with a few truths, as with most religions, but I kept searching and eventually found this site. I've lurked for a while, and what I've seen matches my natural beliefs perfectly. So now I am joining, and I look forward to learning more and sharing my own opinions on certain issues.

        Peace and welcome Sahcrel,
Its interesting to me how people born to Christian families can believe that Jesus is not divine but just a Prophet. Its almost as though the truth is self-evident to some regardless of how much indoctrination the parents/culture can do.

        welcome

            Welcome to the forum.

You are right that Islam, like most religions that get large enough, tend to stray from the original teachings and become a mix of truth and falsehood. It is amazing to think that Muslims on the whole quite happily think Jews/Christians follow a mix of truth and falsehood, yet never consider they do it themselves. The Quran is right when it says each sect is busy rejoicing in what it has

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

              peace & welcome sachrel

you, my wife & many more christians share the same belief that jesus is not God, nor the son of God, nor a deity in a trinity. my wife says that as early as when she was five she already grappled with the question on the divinity of jesus. as early as five, she was convinced that though jesus was a special man...he had no will nor power of his own.

jesus is not God. jesus is not lord. jesus is not the savior.

There is no god but God. God is our lord & our savior.

              welcome to God's deen.

              peace. ramon O0

                Salaam Sahcrel and Welcome!

Had some background info to share with you regarding "Son Of God".
The terms "Son Of God" is a misconception from the Hebrew Word "Ben Elohym".
Although "Ben Elohym" does literally means "Son Of God" it's actually a 'title' and allegorical by nature...

"Ben Elohym" means "God's Man" / "God's Choosen Man" / "God's Special Agent".
In the OT David and Solomon is also being entitled with "Son Of God" / "Ben Elohym".
"Ben Elohym" is a singular form of "Beney Elohym" which means "God's People".

And in the bible; Jesus clearly clarify what does it take for one to be Son Of God / People Of God thus clearly clarify the actual meaning of "Son Of God" as well..

"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God."
                Matt 59

                Salam / Peace

                  Salaam peace and welcome
I was like just like you.. always struggled with the "Jesus is God" concept as soon as I started going to church. I love Islam because of its simplicity and its honesty... just worship One God- nothing more, nothing less.
However it is tough, with different "sects" of Islam confusing others. I remember people asking me why I would convert to such a complicated religion-- and its not at all complicated.

Islam means submission.. to GOD alone, there is no God but Him.

Peace and hope you stay with us!!! peace
