I'll take a guess and say probably so there can be an added blasphemy in the world of beliefs that a miraculous virgin birth proves (to people who believe this) that Jesus was God and Mary was his mother.
I guess to differentiate between people with common sense and those without. -\ -

ha, good answer fuhrer, i was actually thinking along those same lines, I always hear christians say, well jesus was born of a virgin, this is a miracle and proves that GOd was his father and that he is God himself because the prochecy says his name will be emmanuel, which means God is with us. This of course proves nothing , but its enough to add another blasphemy by those unable to use there common sense.

Ironsky Haha, yeah, Christian missionaries have a habit of trying to prove the Bible right by throwing around quotes from the Bible itself. That's like trying to define a word by using that word.
Oh, and just to clarify I meant that along with believing that God begot a son, and that God was a human being, they would also attribute a mother to Him (a human woman, no less). Aka further blasphemy. I just re-read what I wrote and felt that wasn't clear enough.

Well, since the topic was on the EXTRAORDINARY conception of Jesus by the Power of the God... I just wanna pointed out that the conception of the first man was even more EXTRAORDINARY than that... Its does not matter that you already knew it or not... It is just a fact that most will like to bypass... and just focus on the case of Jesus and idolize him due to that...

Well, for all intents and purposes, Satan does what God wants him to. We all do. So, in other words, God does everything.
I think there's a verse in the Qur'an that states something to the effect of "when something good happens to them, they say it is from God. But the bad stuff is also from God".
The Qur'an also says that everyone will be tested. These blasphemies are irrational, and people with common sense will never accept it. Athiests often make the mistake of attributing all religion with just Chrisitanity, and Islam as barbarism. To me, they're better than the people who idolize Jesus or Muhammed.This makes it sound like the angel did the deed!! Is it an angel or GOD's Spirit?
I dunno Arabic, but the literal translation of that word is Soul/Spirit. You should use www.islamawakened.com to read the Qur'an. BTW, Yusuf Ali's translation is probably the worst one out there. I'd use Rashad Khalifa's if I were you...even if you think he's Satan's advocate, that translation, as far as I can tell by comparing it to all the rest of islamawakened, is dependable.

I think you're right about this one... rotfl
Many Christians do call Jesus the "last Adam", saying that since Adam was perfect but he sinned, we need another perfect person to get humanity back to an unsinful state... I think this is ridiculous, though. If Jesus was sinless, why would he have to die for Adam's sin? They claim that Jesus is "God" because he didn't have a father, but they disregard the fact that Adam had neither a father or mother, and neither did Eve (Adam's wife). So, with this logic, Adam must've been the god of the god of the gods, and Eve must've been the goddess of the goddesses... The basic belief in Christianity is dependence on blind faith and belief instead of proof. That's why if you question them on their doctrines, most of them never want to talk about them. They'd rather live in "happy ignorance" than be proven wrong about what they believe in. And the few of them that will participate in a debate regarding their belief BAIL OUT as soon as you start making them realize the fact that their beliefs are not based on scripture at all. The couple of them who actually listen to the truth with open minds and hearts regarding their own beliefs according to the Bible usually don't stay "Christians" for long...

I think you are asking the wrong question... I think the question is...
Why messengers were granted miracles? This should be the real question... The virgin birth of Jesus is a miracle granted for both Jesus and Mary as a proof of messengership...
Each people were sent messengers from among themselves and most of these messengers were granted miracles to support their messengership and ease their work in transmitting the message to the people.... We as humans, have a very very strong attraction to miracles... I think no man can come and say that miracles does not affect him and his views....
So, since Jesus was the Messenger of God... God chose this miracle among others, for him and his mother...

The Quran already gives the answer to this question.
He said, "Thus said your Lord, `It is easy for Me. We will render him a sign for the people, and mercy from us. This is a predestined matter.'" (1921)
Jesus' birth was a sign to the people, and it was a test of their belief in him. Jesus was, according to the Quran, also created from dust, just like Adam (359), but he was placed inside Mary to become a sign to the believers. Allah does as He pleases and according to His will.

pvb, the thing that continually confuses you christians is that the greater God made jesus the more youuse it to confirm that jesus is GOd, you then try to compare and contrast the prophet and messenger jesus with other prophets and say see, look at the distinction of jesus, he is truely great and therefore he is also God. Why was jesus born of a virgin, because God is his father you say, why did jesus raise from the dead, because he wanted to prove that he was God on earth you say, why did jesus walk on water, because he wanted to show the similarity of the old testamant that said Gods spirit moved on the water you say. This is all wrong, remember Jesus was sent for the lost jews, Jesus was rejected and killed by the jews, God made a covenant with the jews and promised then certain privelages if they kept their covenant, which they didnt, this is why jesus was sent to them, to teach them the true meaning of their covenant. The jews had continually rejected and broke their promises to GOd, they danced around the golden calf even as Moses was on Mt Sinai receiving the ten commandments, over and over they continued to doubt and fall away from the message of GOd, yet God forgave them and gave them another chance, this is why he sent Jesus with clear proofs and power while on earth, God knew the jews would reject his signs and proofs, so he upted the ante, he made jesus even more miraculous than others sent to the jews so as to place a greater burden on them if they reject, it ws Gods way of placing the final nail in the jews coffin, if jesus prophethood was to be obvious to all and he was even accepted by nonjews, then woe to the jews that reject him, God can now fulfill his covenant by rejecting those jews that reject jesus, Thers even a Quran verse that says something like " every jew will have to believe in Jesus before they will be accepted by GOd" So jesus tried to teach them the true meaning of the original message , which they changed and distorted, and they had a chance to both fulfill their original covenant with God by accepting the new covenant with GOd that jesus came to offer them, but only if they accepted the true teachings of the original message,,, of course they rejected both jesus and the message he brought from God and had him killed. So, God gave Jesus manifest signs and power to prove to the jews unequivically that he was sent by God, and a virgin birth was one of these signs. So please dont try to twist this fact into a new proof that he was God.

OK that was a gynecological exam that the angel Gabriel did on Mary- I wondered why she put up the screen. It was so the dust could be put into Mary. Is any of Mary's DNA included in this dust put into Mary's womb? Did Allah take out one of her eggs combine it with the dust and then implant Jesus?

This is FALSE. The followers of Jesus called themselves Nazarenes/Nazarites. The Quran also uses the Arabic form of this word (i.e. "Nasara" instead of using the word "Christian". Why do you think this is? hmm The reason is because Christianity is not a monotheistic religion, unlike Nazaritism and Judaism. Christians believe in the divinity of Jesus, and they regard him as their "savior", even though the Bible completely contradicts this reasoning. Nazarites follow the Law of Moses while still believing in the example and words of Jesus, and they have their own scripture (i.e. "The Gospel of the Nazarites". This is completely contrary to Christians, who reject the Law of Moses and pick-and-choose which Biblical regulations they want to follow.
Regarding the use of the name "Christian", this is an idolatrous title. The followers of Paul gave him and his fellows that name because they regarded Jesus as their savior and deity. All the other monotheistic religions put their absolute faith in God. That's why Jews were never called "Mosesites", and it's viewed as blatantly disrespectful to call a true muslim/submitter a "Mohammedan". It wasn't the Jews who called them "Christians" either, it was the Greek society. The word "Christ" is taken from the Greek word "Christos", and this word was not used among the Jews, who called Jesus the "Messiah". Jesus never started his own religion called "Christianity", and he never condoned this action for any of his disciples. He taught them strict adherance to the Law, not total rejection of it as Paul taught. Hence, Christianity is a fabricated, manmade religion, and their beliefs do NOT come exclusively from the Bible because they reject half of the Bible. If they accepted the entire Bible as their law and doctrine, they certainly wouldn't call themselves "Christians".

Actually, the Quran is very explicit as to the meaning of Jesus being called a "word of Allah" (kalimallah). It refers to Jesus by this title because he was actually developed from a literal "word" from God (i.e. "BE". The Bible gives a completely vague description of the meaning of this, and it has led many to believe that Jesus is actually God Himself, which is blasphemy.

How do you know that nobody else recorded in the Bible or Quran was sinless and pure? According to Jewish tradtions, Abraham was also called "sinless, upright, and pure", as were a few others among the prophets of God. That title, based on Hebrew customs, was not exclusive to Jesus, and they often used it to apply to all of God's divinely inspired prophets. If you really want to follow the ways of Jesus, instead of believing in pagan Christianity, maybe you should do some research on Nazaritism, and see how it compares to the beliefs of Christianity...
