    Peace,

    Let's do some math

    1ly = 354 days

    1sy = 365 days

    1 ly = 1sy - 11 days

1825 They stayed in their cave three hundred years, increased by nine.

    300sy x 365days = 109500days

Now to find how many lunar years is this

    109500days 354days = 309ly

So, 300 solar years are 309 lunar years.

1825 They stayed in their cave three hundred years, increased by nine.

Meaning 300 solar years and 9 lunar years.

    Totally 309 luni-solar years.

Argument that the year is luni-solar.

    Peace,
    R.

      Yes, I agree...

But what practical implication it has for us today?
There are heavy misunderstandings about the calendar, and it certainly doesn't help, that, apart from the official one, we have the Jewish one, the christian orthodox (which I think uses the Gregorian) and then Hijrah etc etc...

But, there is only One God, one sun, and one planet, for all of us.

So, I wonder how would it possible to calculate one calendar, God's calendar for all? ???

It has already been done. Check chapter 13 of "The Natural Republic".

One reason would be fasting and the night of decree.

Timing is the art of existence.

        Peace,
        R.

Thank you for pointing that out.

I didn't know that at the end of the chapter 13 there is an actual calendar for the current year.
It changes the Ramadan upside down, so I missed to fast this December-January!...
I hope God will forgive me for I didn't know, I just learned it now.

Is it possible that the whole "Islamic Muslim" world is in the wrong??? ???
is it possible that millions fast a wrong Ramadan?

          Thanx again...

          peace

All i know is that the path of truth is walked solo.

            Check this article also http//m.almanac.com/content/full-moon-winter-solstice

Especially "The rarity of a solstitial full Moon?the average interval is about 19 years?reinforces the Moon's role as a beacon playing on human history"

            7430 Upon it is nineteen.

And "If the solstice night is calm and cloudless, with the full Moon beaming down on a blanket of snow, it will be irresistibly attractive, and electrical illumination?even your car's headlights?may seem superfluous."

975 It is peaceful until the coming of dawn.

            Peace,
            R.

              Thank you!
              I couldn't agree more!

As great Al-Ghazali also said, "... true Islam started with loners, and it will also end with solitary ones..."

I've read the article, thank you for the link.

I like your emphasis and I also noticed the period of 19 years.
And thank you for your noble and poetic approach.

And the beautiful way to emphasize and bring to attention the silver brightness of pure moon light...

God bless you, and may God reward you!

              Thank you
