...that the free-minds.org website represents or promotes a "Quranist" belief system? I've only recently become familiar with the term "Quranist" and with this website. This is my first post.
So if it's true, it's a relief on my part mainly because I'm curious to learn about Quranism.

Mumin, as in Believer? Yep, it certainly seems to fit the description.
Thanks for the verses, it gives a clear definition.
"The believers are indeed successful.
Those who are humble when making their communion.
And they abstain from vain talk.
And they are active towards betterment.
And they cover their private parts.
Except around their mates, or those who are committed to them by oath, they are free from blame.
But whosoever seeks anything beyond this, then these are the transgressors.
And those who are true to what they have been entrusted and their pledges.
And those who maintain their communions.
These are the inheritors.
The ones who shall inherit Paradise, in it they will abide." (231 - 2311)"As for those who are in reverence from the awareness of their Lord.
And they believe in the revelations of their Lord.
And they do not set up anything with their Lord.

i pray that we are not creating new sect(s) in this forum. as for me, i don't go with labels like quranism, quranist, quran aloners, etc.
i believe in God alone & i try very hard to follow all his commands as embodied in the confirming scripture the quran. how people try to box me into their convenient labels is something that i have to live with & to live by. God is enough as my witness on how i struggled to look for His straight path and God willing, i know i will succeed.

Absolutely, and I've begun to realize several members on this forum embody that very same attitude. I think it's wise and well reasoned. Thank you for clarifying, it gives a better perspective about this movement.
So if fabricating labels possibly creates new sects, I guess the best term to identify ourselves with can only be found in the Quran itself. Wouldn't it make sense, since the People of the Book (Jews and Christians) are already identified in the Quran? I'm not completely sure if the title Muslim fits, for reasons that can be found in the example of this thread<a href="http//free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=9597558.0">Never Say " I am a Muslim!"</A>.... but maybe Mumin or Muslimun comes close....?
