That seems to be the pattern. Is the Quran only the initialed chapters?

    21 A.L.M.
22 This is the Scripture in which there is no doubt, a guide for the righteous.

    31 A.L.M.
32 God, there is no god but He, the Living, the Sustainer.
33 He sent down to you the Scripture with truth, authenticating what is present with it; and He sent down the Torah and the Injeel.

    71 A.L.M.S?
72 A Scripture that has been sent down to you, so let there not be any burden in your chest from it, that you may warn with it; and a reminder to the believers.

111 A.L.R, a Scripture whose verses have been made firm, then detailed, from One who is Wise, Expert.

121 A.L.R, these are the signs of the clarifying Scripture.

131 A.L.M.R, these are the signs of the Scripture. And what has been sent down to you from your Lord is the truth; but most of the people do not believe.

    191 K.H?.Y.A?.S?
192 A reminder of your Lord?s mercy to His servant Zachariah.

    201 T?.H?
202 We did not send down to you the Qur?an so you may suffer.
203 It is but a reminder for the one who takes heed.

    281 T?.S.M.
282 These are the signs of the clear Scripture.

    ..and so on.

Why is it that those initialed chapters contain the word "Scripture" or "Reminder" in their first few verses?

Could it be that those initialed chapters are THE scriptures while the ones without the initials are not?

I have been curious of this for a long time.

      Peace Brother Tony,

That's very interesting. We should try to see if the content of the verses from the initialed Surah are different from the rest.

      God knows best

        Peace,
        Respectfully.

God knows best but my guess is good as any i'd say this they could be for the future generations. I mean, back then, during the time of prophet Muhammad, they read something they didn't quite understand, fully, maybe, right, so they just said, we believe in all. These letters may not be for us, they could be for the future generations.

        God knows best.
        Glory be to our God.

        Peace.

What led you to that conclusion because there's nothing in Al-Quran or history to suggest this view??

I have no conclusion. All I have is a curiosity on why there is such a pattern in the Quran. See it for yourself.

            Peace.

              Peace Tony,

There is already one conclusion formed about these so-called "mysterious letters", and it was formed and proven by Dr. Rashad Khalifa. Whether you agree with this conclusion or not, you should check it out. Perhaps you will be enlightened. May Allah guide us to the truth.

                Assalaam Alaikum...

The meanings or references to the 'initials' is found in the ayahs that follow....the initials are vocalized...

                  Peace

                  Interesting post.

But still if we take the whole Quran into account, it does form the 19 pattern which i think is more interesting.

But the pattern is really interesting.

                  Thanks for the post.
