6:146 when did "undivided hoofs" become "claws" or vice versa?

6146 For those who are Jewish, We forbade
all that have claws; and from the cattle
and the sheep We forbade their fat
except what is attached to the back, or
entrails, or mixed with bone. That is a
punishment for their rebellion, and We
are truthful.

How do we know that "claws" is the right translation, or "undivided hoofs"?
