Hmm, I like the name Yusuf/Josef...which apparently in Hebrew means something like, "to increase" or "enlarge".

I also like the name Yacub/Jacob...which, again in Hebrew, means something like, "held by the heel".

And, as you know, the Prophets had these names.

Well, I am obviously fond of my own first name; Travis, it comes from an old french world meaning traverse or crossroads.

but then, there is a huge source of names for both boys, girls, even twins at this website.

I have the best name in the world, Joseph, and it means "he will enlarge". It's all about the zakat with me. ;D

            Joe

Sorry can't recommend my name ;D. But I am for a name that is easy to pronounce and remember and is familiar in most languages. How about Adam? No need to explain. Also Jude (sounds Western but means generosity in Arabic).

                        Peace Jankren,

                        Muhammad Jihad.

No offense, but based on the currently widespread view of Muslims (or muslims) throughout the world, I don't think the world is ready for this name yet. They'll think he's a terrorist! hypno

                        Peace,

                        Ahmad

With a softer J, you mean? I do not know how a softer d is pronounced. Just as one pronounces "Jude" in Jude Law

I had a student named Abdullah. His middle name was Amir. Caleb is a nice name as well. Don't know the meanings though.
