My Journey
-
Salam
I grew up in a "traditional" muslim household and had faith in God and the authenticity of the Quran but never tried to educate myself on my own religion. There was alot of confusion and doubt as I started to question the practices of traditional islam. Two years ago I decided to read the Quran to completion so I could determine whether islam was the right path for me. Initially it was slow going but with each ayah the confusion I encountered subsided and I wanted to read more. I would stay up late into the night barely awake just so I could finish a chapter. I'm glad I've found the Quran again and this forum. Hopefully God will guide all of us to a greater reward in the hereafter.

Peace,
Welcome to the forum.
Although I did not grow up in islam and found my way through the Bible first and never had the feeling you had, I can understand it was a special feeling reading the Quran with your own eyes, without sectarian mind control. You are one of those lucky souls, "who possess intelligence", as God puts it in His book.
It was almost like it says in a verse of Quran when I first read the Quranic passages, for my tears came. The first time I read Quran I understood that it was the word of God.
I am glad you were guided by the Lord and found the true Path and the Light. God bless you.

Glorified be God for he has guided you to the right path.
One should never stop reading the Qur'an and praying God for Guidance, for he is the only one that is going to make it clear to us.
One should never stop eating from the food that God gave us to help us get the eternal life, and so that even if one day we find our selves in a desert, we will not fall for the man made stuff.
