This thread is funny. Are you guys aware that many people debunked every single trick by Copperfield including the statue of liberty and the china wall? More than 10 years ago books have been written about it debunking his illusions, and I'm sure you can find alot of that stuff on YouTube. If I can remember correctly, the statue of liberty trick was performed using a rotating platform, and the china wall was a bit more complicated, but still explained thoroughly.

Look it up, google is your friend.

There are many Sunni Muslims who claim that David Copperfield has jinns under his control and that's how he performs those tricks. That is, indeed, very funny.

        Peace,

I don't know... hmm I've seen live feeds from Criss Angel, and I actually saw David Blaine doing some of his "street magic", and it sure doesn't look fake (LOL)... I haven't actually seen Criss Angel up close and personal doing the "magic", but I've actually seen David Blaine do it live on the streets, right in my face, and it's CRAZY. I haven't seen anybody debunk the acts of David Blaine, not even once, or Criss Angel either. I don't know how they do it, but THEY DO IT...

        Peace,

        Ahmad

          Peace to all,

I actually learned some of their tricks and they are all explainable. Some are pretty elaborate and require preplanning and help, but their all just illusions and trickery.

This has to be the funniest post I've read on the forum. laugh

Criss Angel himself debunks more than half of his own tricks, including his very convincing levitation. He sells DVDs explaining the illusions.

As far as David Blaine is concerned, he does many things that have to do with your own body, such as being kept in ice for a long time, without food/water, etc., but as far as his illusions, most of them are explained as well. In fact, more than half of the tricks he did on a TLC special a couple of years ago can be bought at online magic stores such as Penguinmagic.com. Those tricks include the invisible deck, cigarette through quarter, biting a quarter, and many more. Other card tricks he performs are done using sleight of hand, such as the double-lift, and others.

You guys need to do more research.

I know it might sound crazy, but I actually DID do research on this stuff. I know David Blaine explains many of his basic tricks and illusions, many times for free. However, some of his other, more complex ones still haven't been debunked. He's done things like winning jackpots at casinos, putting his hand through a glass window without cracking it, staying completely enclosed in ice for over 63 hours, holding his breath underwater for 17 minutes (which earned him the Guiness World Record title), hanging upside down over New York City for 60 hours, being buried alive for 7 days, and even standing on a pillar above the city for 35 hours! To an average person, these feats are considered PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE, but he did them, and he's won plenty of awards and citations for doing them... Call it what you want, but David Blaine does some pretty amazing things, and I haven't seen anyone refute any of these acts. I'm not talking about simple card tricks, which he's explained through books and documentaries; I'm talking about his actual feats that have amazed millions of spectators, which he does right on the street, right in front of everybody... The same thing goes for Criss Angel when he does his stunts and tricks, and he's done plenty of "unexplainable" things too. Now, I don't think these guys have some flying spirit creatures working for them or anything, but I do want to know how they do what they do. It's not "normal"... laugh

You haven't read what I said at all. I clearly said that some of the things David Blaine did require alot of mental and physical training, such as being in the ice, being buried alive, etc., and I applaud him for that. Just as certain cultures are able to eliminate pain through meditation and put nails through their bodies, many of those kinds of things are not illusions (although some are). But when you say he put his hand through a glass window without cracking it you say it with some kind of conviction as if you're completely convinced that this isn't an illusion, and that he physically passed through solid matter. It's statements like those that make you sound really gullible, no offense.

You're also wrong that the "simple card" tricks are the only tricks that have been debunked. This is false. The Criss Angel levitation (a great illusion btw) he does in front of spectators has been debunked on his own DVD. The same goes for numerous other tricks. And anyway, what could be bigger than passing through the wall of China and making the statue of liberty disappear? The greatest illusions by Copperfield have been debunked years ago. I even read about it in 1999, or maybe even earlier than 1999, I can't remember what year it was.

David Blaine does many impressive feats that require great amounts of mental and physical training, but sometimes he too, fails

Criss Angel's Las Vegas levitation was debunked on his DVD?! That's news to me... I'll have to look into that one. I definately want to know how he pulled that whole thing off...

Regarding David Blaine putting his hand through that glass window, I've searched for an explanation for that, but nobody has been able to explain that. Not magicians or illusionists, and not him either. So, like I said, if it's so fake, please explain how he did it right in front of spectators, in public and on camera. I'd like to hear what you have to say about this...

There were many levitation illusions that he performed, but the one that he explained on DVD is the one where he turns his back to the crowd and then levitates. It's just one among many that are debunked, really. What is interesting is that when you figure out how this trick works, you can clearly see that Criss used paid actors at one point. There's a clip from his show "Mindfreak" where 2 or 3 people are on the other side and can see how he's performing the trick, yet they're acting all astonished and amazed.

Are you aware that both Criss Angel and David Blaine have admitted to using camera tricks? When Blaine did the "Balducci" levitation (very simple to do) he admitted that they later edited the videos to make it look like he went up like a foot off the ground. laugh It was on TLC, actually.

                        Salaam,
When David Blaine went to Africa to show his tricks people were saying he knows black magic and he told them he does not know any magic but is only playing tricks. He is a mind reader and considered evil here in the UK. People insulted him when he was doing one of his performances here so his magic did not work on the minds of British people.
However I also heard about a programme, shown only once on British TV, where a group explained about hypnotism of the most advance form where they have group of people who work in their work shops thinking they are only learning sports or other skill but actually these people are hypnotised to carry out the most heinous crimes without having a clue about it. Evil practice. I also suspect that some of these people end up carrying out suicide missions while hypnotised. hmm

                            Peace to all,

I once saw a show that did an experiment by some marketing and media professionals, they invited a bunch of different peope from different places to come to new york and then be questioned, after being asked a series of questions and then responding they were amazed that the marketing gurus had actually had their answers to the questions written down in advance, the people were amazed and shocked and thought they could only know this by reading there minds, but then they explained how they did it and it was pretty elaborate but easy to do and worked perfectly. It kinda freaked me out actually to know that there are people that have studied these techniques and are being used right now by the corporations to manipulate and convince us of things we dont need, i knew they did this , just not at that sophisticated level and with such guranteed success, we really are an easy bunch to fool we humans.

Or we allow ourselves to become easily manipulated fools. Much more is happening then we are aware of; illusion is everywhere and we have very little knowledge of the sorcerers working to keep the evil ones in power. All those who believe should know that Musa is not going to come to save us; we all have to be Musa to expose the power of illusion. peace

David Blaine has nothing to do with black magic or any "evil" practices. He is an illusionist and a mentalist, and hypnosis has nothing to do with those two things. Nor can he "read minds."

No, I'm not saying I believe it. I just want to hear your explanation for how he did it...

                                  Peace Abdelilah,

The explanation is the same as to how Criss Angel could not only put his hand through a glass window, but his whole body; the glass window moves.

Okay... HOW?!? It's not possible. Science has already proven that glass is actually a liquid compound, not a solid. However, do you know how hot something must be, or how fast the particles of a solid object must be moving, in order to pass through a glass window without breaking it? It's physiologically impossible for a human to do that. That's why I want to know how they did it. For them to do it in front of live audiences and in a continuous-shot video, it can't be staged. So, how did they do this? Has this been debunked by anybody yet?

                                  Peace,

                                    Peace Ahmad

                                    Peace Abdelilah,

Okay...

The glass window MOVES AWAY. Google 'through' 'glass' 'revealed'.

                                    Abdelilah

                                      Peace Amid,

No, I'm not saying I believe it. I just want to hear your explanation for how he did it...

My friend, you need to listen to yourself and what you're saying. you keep saying you don't believe that he did it, yet you continue to say things like it is physologically impossible. Of course it is impossible to pass through solid matter. That is why they are illusionists. They perform illusions in order to elicit reactions such as yours.

How could David Copperfield pass through the wall of china? Isn't it impossible? Yes, passing through the wall of china is impossible physically, because it is solid matter. Unless God wills and gives you some paranormal ability, you cannot pass through the wall of china. That is why this is an illusion that has been debunked more than 10 years ago. You can probably find it everywhere on Google. The same goes for the Statue of Liberty, and many, many, many other illusions.

Why do you keep ignoring everything I say in my previous posts? You keep implying that if there is an illusion that hasn't been debunked, then it's not an illusion, but the real thing? You're not making sense at all. Not every single illusion has been explained in detail, but about 90% of the greatest illusions performed by the greatest magicians have been debunked. If some of the greatest illusions have been debunked, why are you stuck on David Blaine moving his hand through a glass window?

                                      Here's a good one for you http//de.youtube.com/watch?v=25dNZhgVrkc

In that clip, Criss Angel teleports a man and woman. Amazing, huh? Well, no. On a radio show a while ago Criss Angel personally admitted he used twins for that trick. It was all an act, and they were not "randomly selected" from the group. On cue, at the same time, the first pair moves to the side, and the other pair moves to their position.

But let me guess, you probably don't believe in that, and believe he really teleported them. laugh

                                        Amid,

You sound like a fool, and I guess no matter how short my statement was to you, you're somehow incapable of understanding a simple statement like the one I made... Look again, buddy. This was about more than just reaching through a glass window; it was about all of the other feats I mentioned, performed by David Blaine. When it came to his illusion of passing through the glass, I clearly said

No, I'm not saying I believe it. I just want to hear your explanation for how he did it...

So, what was all that other stuff about?! If you're not going to answer the simple question, instead blabbering on and on about useless information not relating to the issue, then just be quiet and don't say anything... Now, if you're going to provide an explanation for what I asked, then do so. If not, then I don't have any further words for you. Plain and simple.

                                        Peace,

                                        Ahmad

David Blaine has nothing to do with black magic or any "evil" practices. He is an illusionist and a mentalist, and hypnosis has nothing to do with those two things. Nor can he "read minds."

When did I say that David Blaine has anything to do with black magic read my post carefully.
I see that you have had some experience which has convinced you that someone, other than God, can change the course of anyone's life. This thinking is shirk! NO one, other than God, can change what lies ahead for you; it may appear to them that they did but no way is it so. 1267And he said "My sons, do not enter from one gate, but enter from separate gates; and I cannot avail you anything against God, for the judgment is to God. In Him I put my trust, and in Him those who put their trust should trust.
