    Peace
Are there any verses in Quran that prohibit females from being in the company of males who are not close relatives? In the Gulf countries my understanding is that this is usually against the Sharia law. I am not sure about the age range they apply it to - possibly from puberty. Also not sure about old age - does it apply to those who are 50, 60, 70, 80 years old?

Is there any verse in Quran that would prohibit me from offering a room in my house to the son of my friends (he is in his 20's and I am old enough to be his grandmother. I live alone.) while he is here on holiday. He recently arrived in my country and is looking for work. Is there any verse that would prohibit me from being in his company - collecting him from bus station, taking him to dinner, sight seeing etc

      Salam

I do not know of any verse in the quran which suggest a gender apartheid. Gulf countries follow hadith and 90% of their sharia law is based on hadith and sunnah.

There are verses in quran talking about dress codes in regards to relatives and non-relatives. Thats all I can think about.

      Peace

There is no restriction for you in Quran for all that you want to do to your friend's son. Given your age, Allah goes even one step further in this ayat to give you comfort with no blame on you

        1. Such elderly women as are past the prospect of marriage,- there is no blame on them if they lay aside their outer garments, provided they make not a wanton display of their beauty but it is best for them to be modest and Allah is One Who sees and knows all things.
