The problem with what you quoted about 4102 is that there is no actual evidence behind the claim of who is being addressed. That is what I was highlighting.
Many writers do not provide sufficient evidence for their claims, it is nothing new.

Yes, Aidid Safar, thats his name..he has great work, although I disagree still with some of his end results, definately a good read.
It is all fine and well to say that we must do this and do that, we must agree to meet someone, or to pay workers, etc....giving the following of orders the title "salaat" os a grave error and FRUITLESS...wether we call it salaat or not, people have been given orders to follow since the beginning of time. Because someone calls it salaat does not change the real problem. And that is HOW does one effectively change thier behavior from one who does not obey to one who obeys? The answer is the real meaning of salaat, which is PROGRAMMING....programming what? The Nafs(subconcious). The entire counsel(quran) tells us what to do, do we need to be told "do it again"? Or are we being told HOW to do it? Can u see and appreciate the difference?

Salat according to Allah should not be in a manner that others might see it; in other words salat must be unseen to the naked eyes. Sura Juma'a says when you are called for prayers, hasten to meditate on Allah. Salat does not have a single meaning. Salat is the process of following Allah in every sphere of our life for being endowed with more and more of His attributes as we get closer and closer to Allah.
Proof of salat lies not in grammar or logic; but in being an example one self, living without shirk. His reward for such life in this world is that neither fear nor worry touches him.

So based on this, Solaah is "commitment" to Allah's Deen.
How to fully commit is a different subject, but I am not sure one
purify oneself by endless meditating on Allah's name or His atributes
like in Sufism or such.I just wonder if one does purify ones inner by doing good deeds on the outer,
that the change comes by outer action, not by inner "blankness". To me
Allah's book is mostly about "how to". So His Deen is action, how to behave and
how to rule a society just. -

Also, how do you explain the use of the term "alsalaatu alwusta"? Can this mean "middle commitment"? This doesn't make any sense... The word "salaat" itself refers to a contact or connection, and from a 'religious' standpoint, this means a connection with God. The translation of this as "commitment" conflicts with this in many areas throughout the Reading...

Then next question is how do people make contact with GOD...I've seen people meditate to make contact with god...or do other stuff..that would still be considered "salaat" wouldn't it?

I guess this could be one way of looking at it. Some people definately view meditation as a way of drawing closer to God, while some moreso believe in praying, and others even believe that fasting (abstaining from food and drink) is a form of gaining a closer spiritual connection with Him. It all depends on your perspective and interpretation of the passages...

Enshrine Him in your heart; then we know where shrine is! Thereafter salat becomes all time! Salat is being with Him in the shrine; neither you can step out of the shrine nor shift the shrine out of your heart to some place far away. Then those are not masjids but the densely populated dens of shaitaans.
