Hello everyone.
I'm from Durham in N.E. England.
It feels good to connect with so many like-minded people since I recently was guided to the right path.
I've always had a 'feeling' of God, but being raised as a Christian, I had difficulty 'connecting'.
A few months back while browsing YouTube, I came upon a documentary entitled 'The Signs Of God's Existence' - http//youtu.be/ZS1x-6al2pE Well, it literally blew me away. It made such a convincing argument for a Creator/God that it changed me instantly. Towards the end of the video the Qur'an was briefly mentioned and it piqued my interest. I did some research online and bought myself a hardcopy of M.A.S. Abdel Haleem's English translation.
As I was reading this beautifully simple but engrossing Book, I couldn't help but realize that a lot of things that 'traditional', 'sectarian' Muslims do, and believe were not in the Qur'an.
More internet research revealed what real, true Islam actually is. The Qur'an only, not the fundamentalism and sectarianism that is portrayed frequently.
I have been following the work of Milan Sulc, Edip Yuksel and various Quran only websites which have been extremely valuable in educating me.
I've become friends with Dr. Ahmed Subhy Mansour, who I e-mail on a daily basis. He is helping me immensely.
Well, that's about it for an introduction. I hope to make many friends and have some good conversations.

It's nice to read your story. It's great to know that you've found peace on your journey.
Abdel Haleem is also the translation I am reading at the moment and it is beautifully written, albeit some inaccuracies in translation.
I'm delighted that you are in contact with Dr. Ahmed Subhy Mansour. I'm sure that's very useful for you.
