Can anyone give me info on how to start a website? Any links & advice would be greatly appreciated. I am based in South Africa. I am not that proficient with IT. Bearing this in mind, is it still possible to build a decent website?

Building a website is relatively easy and cheap BUT it depends on the functionality you wish it to have. If that is complicated/fancy/extensive/etc then it becomes more difficult.
Also, depends on who your target audience is because you have to consider how you are going to reach them. A person can have a great looking website but very little traffic to it. The saying is "content is king".
Feel free to pm me with a detailed plan on what you want to do etc and I can give you some advice. Same goes for anyone else.
