    Peace,

    Has anyone seen this video?

    http//www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FyiHUK8rDs

I fully agree with what he is saying. I think we have to try not to become an institution or a sect. Just by using this term Quranist, you already have sectarians associating a particular set of beliefs just on hearing this word Quranist. I thought the whole point was to follow the Quran and live a way of life, as prescribed by Allah? We should really be free from tags and labels, but surely saying you are a muslim,l or a believer is enough? If they ask what school or what sect, we can simply tell them neither, just someone who follows the Quran alone.

When you start adding ists and isms to it, you are in danger of institutionalizing the belief system we have. people need to remember, Islam is not a religion, it is a way if life. We don't want nor need leaders or heads of the group etc. Then you will end up with a set of standardized interpretations spouted by Quranist leaders which people will follow, we will become much like the sectarians adopting a similar model. There is a real danger of this happening.

Watch this video and would like to hear your thoughts. Do you think it's ok to give yourself a label a banner to fall under?
