What exactly is an "unbeliever?" who are the Unbelievers today?
-
I have studied the Holy Quran for about 15 months and have noticed how many references there are to "Unbelievers" and what will happen to them in the afterlife. Are atheists unbelievers? or are bad, disrespectful people unbelievers? What happens if you genuinely, honestly and sincerely don't believe but say like Oscar Schindler, you save many lives or you campaign, like Al Gore, to save the environment or like that Chakrabati woman here in the UK, you work tirelessly against injustice?
What do brothers and sisters think being a believers really means?
I like Shakespeare's line"to thine own self be true"
For me physical submission, rakah itself, is very important - to prostrate yourself is to rid yourself of intellectual pride - sometimes when I bow, I feel an emotional pull toward Allah - almost a kind of despair,a cry of love and relief - I feel that I will never understand and yet I am safe, for a while at least. Is this what belief feel like? hmm
