Let us read the following and reevaluate our Deen...Are we on the Stright Path?
-
Peace all
Let us read the following and reevaluate our Deen
Lest you say ?The Scripture was only sent down to two groups before us, and we were unaware of their study!?
6156Who are the Ones whom will say the above? are they the moslems (US)
What are the Two Books, which we are not aware of its studies, that were sent before on Two Groups? Are they the Torah and Injeel. According to the following verse and many others, yes they are the Torah and Injeel, which many of us here ignore their Teachings.
24 And those who believe in what was sent down to you, and what was sent down before you, and regarding the Hereafter they are certain.
24If the above is TRUE, then here what will happend
Or you say ?If the Scripture was sent to us we would have been more guided than they!? Clarity has come to you from your Lord, and a guidance and a mercy. Who is more wicked than one who denies God?s revelations and turns away from them? We will punish those who turn away from Our revelations with the pain of retribution for what they turned away.
6157Do they wait until the angels will come to them, or your Lord comes, or some signs from your Lord? The day some signs come from your Lord, it will do no good for any soul to believe if it did not believe before, or it gained good through its belief. Say ?Wait, for we are waiting.?
6158May God Bless those who are seeking His Truth

I do not understand how these verses are related to your question.
Also, believing in a scripture or scriptures or even being a quraan/God aloner does not automatically mean someone is on the straight path. Being on the straight path is a state intself that calls for a lot of effort and vigilance. You know you are on the straight path when you are confronted with a difficult situation, where you have to apply the straight path, even though this application may not be in your interest or the interest of a dear person, by telling the truth against someone/oneself,or making a decision that does not take into consideration other than God's commandment (i.e no appeal to the crowd/market/politics/home country/traditions and customs....etc) -

It can be about anyone who is argumentative, proud, arrogant and so, ignorant.

Peace,
My Question is
What are the Two books that are mentioned in the Verse? One book, two groups; not two books
Salam Samia
What is your understanding of 6-156?My understanding of "the book" is that adopted by Prof Sha7rour not "a/the scripture" but the part of the scripture that deals with the law.
The verse is addressing anyone who comes after the "two groups". Some people believe that the "ten commandments" are for the people of Moses and were also adopted by Jesus, but they are universal law. In fact they are the very "straight path". -
One book, two groups; not two books
Peace Samia,
As you know, God, when speaking about the Torah, Injeel and Quran, He calls them The Book. But when we discuss, I say Books, which is wrong. Here a well-established verse where God Speaking about The Book (Torah, Injeel, and Quran)
2213 The people used to be one nation, then God sent the prophets as bearers of good news and warners, and He sent down with them the Book with the facts so that they may judge between the people in what they were disputing. But after receiving the clarity, the people disputed in it due to animosity between them. And God guided those who believed with His permission regarding what they disputed in of the truth. And God guides whoever He wishes to a straight path.
2213My understanding of "the book" is that adopted by Prof Sha7rour not "a/the scripture" but the part of the scripture that deals with the law.
The verse is addressing anyone who comes after the "two groups". Some people believe that the "ten commandments" are for the people of Moses and were also adopted by Jesus, but they are universal law. In fact they are the very "straight path".Great...But the Torah and Injeel has more than the Ten Commandments, which are clearly revealed in Quran.
As you know, the True believers are the ones who believe in Quran and what were revealed before the Quran (hence, the hadith books are out of the picture).
I believe that ignoring the studying of the Book that was sent on the two groups before us is wrong, according to the Verse. God wants us to study them for reasons and not to waste our time.Salaam Belal

And this is My path, a Straight One. ?So follow it, and do not follow the other paths lest they divert you from His path. That is what He has enjoined you to that you may be righteous.?

It would be a waste of time to search for these pure books and learn their language to understand them when God included the parts He wants us to follow in the quraan ( ) No verse do We copy or make forgotten than We bring a similar or a better one.The relation of the verse under discussion and the straight path is clear...see the verse below
And this is My path, a Straight One. ?So follow it, and do not follow the other paths lest they divert you from His path. That is what He has enjoined you to that you may be righteous.?
6153That's fine and I agree, but this was not the verse you quoted in your first post. You started with verse 6156, hence was my comment

I agree with you 100% that the Quran Has what we need in order to be on the Straight Path; however, one of the orders is to Believe in the Previous Books (Book). Now, How can I say that I believe in something that I do not Know? Is this mean that I'm saying what I Do not Do (hence, hypocrite's Sign)?
Is it true that if we believe in the previous Book, then Jerusalem would be the Place; but if we do not, then we will be confused between Mecca and Jerusalem?
There are many rituals in Quran that are not as detailed (e.g., how to pray, the timing of God's Calendar--Lunar Vs Solar) as it is in Torah and Injeel; Is this means that God wants us to search the Other Scriptures (i.e., Torah and Injeel) in order to know more?
Is it true that Suni and Shia teachings call for ignoring the Torah and Injeel because of many facts that they do not want us to believe in (e.g., Hajj to Jerusalem)?Peace
