I can't believe my ears when people consider sex to be something "filthy" or "nasty" or whatever you want to call it! We are all grown people I assume and we all know (I hope) that sex is more than just for reproduction and getting rid of lust. Sex is not only that, but it's about sharing your love for each other in a physical way! Come on guys! We people see it as filthy or nasty because that's the way it has been taught us most of the time! I learned that it's not filthy and/or nasty. We don't have to be ashamed of it! Sex is all about SHARING LOVE. IF the end product is the creation of another soul, than that's only a good thing (I hope). D

    peace

        Peace,

I'm somehow not surprised ) jk was the only one to message me about my recent avatar change.

Latifah you're right that sex is something there is no need to be afraid of and is fair game for open discussion however, it is something too liable to be hyped I think. The trap I find many young girls fall into is to imagine sex in very idealised ways. Sex is a wonderful but rather small aspect of life. At some points in life it can become much more or seem to be almost everything but it's not.

I too share your position against people who think of sex or other natural human things to be taboos. But sometimes it can get a bit much. I dislike women's magazines that seem to rerun the same stories about sex with different twists every so often. I think they seriously damage the true conception of sex in many young women's minds. They misrepresent what sex is and what it should be. Sharing your love in a physical way like you say is one thing, attempting to climb the sexual equivalent of Mt Everest is another. To reach those dizzy heights (or even get close) sometimes one gets to boundaries that can prove very challenging to the unprepared.

So yes, calling sex filthy or nasty is wrong but hyping it up is another trap for the unwary. It really is a very small thing in your life overall. If you count up the minutes you'll ever spend making love and compare it even to the time you spend sleeping its a very very small percentage. Sometimes sleeping can be better, but only sometimes )

        Peace.

          Peace bro "truth",

...Sex is a wonderful but rather small aspect of life. At some points in life it can become much more or seem to be almost everything but it's not...

JK- Thats why i beleive GOD mentioned in the Quran
We enjoined the human being to honor his parents. His mother bore him arduously, gave birth to him arduously, and took intimate care of him for thirty months. When he reaches maturity, and reaches the age of forty, he should say, "My Lord, direct me to appreciate the blessings You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents, and to do the righteous works that please You. Let my children be righteous as well. I have repented to You; I am a submitter."
GOD knows human behaviour is very volatile expecially at a younger age and so we do not become properly mature until we are around 40. Science has also shown that the age of 39 is a turning point in human psyche. GOD Bless!

truth, when I first looked at your avatar, a certain female body part came to mind. I thought I'd mention this since sex and your avatar were brought up.

JK- I have to thank you again since bro "truth" thought i was the only one who gets such what he termed as "perverted/sick" thoughts. I even told him that if the image wernt rotated 90 degrees in this way then my brain would not have recognized it in the way it did. GOD Bless!

So...what proof is there that castration is forbidden?

Is it "altering the creation of Allah" per se? What about getting your tonsils removed, or extracting teeth? How about losing 50 pounds of fat?

Besides, that verse, as far as I'm concerned is talking about religion, basically "belief in there being 1 god" and is not referring to your physical appearance, or whether or not you have balls. What if a person gets castrated to be free of sexual desire because it's getting in the way of his life/making him feel bad because no one WANTS to have sex with him? I guess this is why hadith advocates rape.

Another question I have is where in the Quran does it say having feminine characterstics is forbidden? Like earrings and long hair, etc.

Actually altering Allah's creation is referring to religion as far as I'm concerned...according to the context in which it's placed. The other verses around it confirms this. Sub.org also agrees.

I was very open to adoption. Regretfully, when I had my own first child and I and to think of a possibility of adopting a second one, I found out I could not do it. I did feel ashamed that I could not carry out what I feel is such a noble deed, but I guess its better to be honest than to let a child possibly suffer. So to all of you who do adopt, I really do admire you.

                      Peace,

I have a question for any of the guys out there, do you have a natural desire for procreation? I ask because I have absolutely zero desire for children. I think children are great, but simply do not want any of my own. Luckily, my wife and I are young enough to where even 5 or 10 years down the road she can still have them, but I do not foresee myself ever wanting them. Quite a big issue too, for my wife thinks someday she will want them.

Back to the original question, is it normal for men have an instinctual desire for children (like many women do), or is it a predominately female thing?

                        In you can, PLEASE adopt.
Adoption laws change from state to state and people who previously couldn't adopt now can. Even singles can adopt nowadays. There are many agencies and adoption attorneys who are willing to work with every type of person and situation. Don't give up, aly-sam! ^_^
