Non-Existence and a Pointless Life - excellent QuranicPath article
-
So I was pointed to a really nice website by TrueSeeker101 and I found an article on there which I found pretty much really hit the nail on the head - my line of thinking is in tune with this article - check it out and let's discuss our conclusions.
http//www.quranicpath.com/quranicpath/pointless_life.html
There is a warning at the beginning of the article that it is not suitable for anyone suffering from depression or anything similar - So I repeat that warning here this article might be unsuitable for people suffering from depression or anything similar!
However I strongly recommend reading it - I learned of new Quranic truths and I'm sure it can be helpful for others too.

Salaam,
Not sure why you strongly recommend reading it hmm
The conclusions he makes are in many ways flawed.
btw are the title and conclusion of the article not contradicting each other?
title Pointless Life
conclusion Those who believe in Revelations claimed to be from God, warning them of a Day of Judgement and the existence of an eternal Heaven or Hell, have the only objective meaning of trying to follow those Revelations as this will determine an after-life. Everything else is totally pointless.salaam,

BenderSalaam Bender - it appears to me that the contradiction is intentional - it is a writing style to make you think, because from a scientific point of view, if you take away everything we know about obeying God and what God has told us about Paradise and Hell, there hereafter, then it does indeed seem that this life is completely pointless.
The fact that their IS a God who can take us from non-existence into existence then we die back to non-existence - without God who can then take us from this state of death and bring us back to life, there is no point to life what so ever, as mentioned in the article nothing would exist from the point of a non-existence point of view, like the state of you and me before we were born.
I hope this makes sense to you?
Salaam.

Salaam,
Allah did not create a single thing pointless.
Yes from the point of someone who does not exists (I doubt it has a point of view as it does not exsist ) there is nothing beyond non-existence.
BUT luckily for us we EXISIST yay So we have a point yay so we should life our life with a goal yay
Isn't it great to be a life and to have goal yay looks to me a waste of life to live your life pointless yesSalaam,
Benderbtw. please reread the verses he quoted, they are a light for those who wants to get out of darkness.

The article posted, in the words of the author, is "pointless". The premise of the article as a whole is irrationally flawed, since it correlates ideas that have ONLY been established with a religious theme... At the end of the day, there are actually two (2) concepts being relayed in this context, although they are meshed together as if they are the same PURPOSE and MEANING. To put it plainly, your life doesn't have to have a PURPOSE in order for it to have MEANING. A purpose is said to exist for the life of an individual prior to their physical existence. Meaning, on the other hand, is created by this individual during his/her lifetime.
Even if life has no legitimate PURPOSE to a Creator, it can still have MEANING to the person living it...
Peace,
Ahmad
