january 28, 2009 my life began. i reverted to islam. took the name ayesha. at 27 it was the best choice of my life. after recited the shahada i cried, not out of sadness but the immense love i felt from allah! the warmth and glory in my heart was almost to much to bear.

i have since endured much ridicule and verbal slander from being a white muslim in america. but take these as a blessing instead of a curse. i fear only allah. i trust in allah alone to protect me.

he has lead me home and he alone will lead continued straight.

that's about it thanks for the listen

    peace

I pray and trust that God will continue to lead you to the straight path and protect you on this journey
Just out of curiosity, why did you change your name? Were you told that it is neccessary?

Once again, Welcome, and God bless

Hey, some Arabs are pasty as the background I'm typing this text in right now. While I do not endorse race, there are light and dark people and light people have had an interest in islam for centuries. ) Even one of our early Presidents possessed a quran. Imagine what the Conservatives of today would have thought about that!

        Anyways, welcome.

thank you so much ) that is very much appreciated
actually i was not told it was necessary. however, i personally feel it is necessary in my life. and i can see how after having changed it for 6 months and no one can quite remember to call me my new legal name (ayesha) that it was even more necessary. i am told repeatedly that it is just too hard to remember. or to hard to pronounce. or too much work to update the computers at work. hmm. oh well. at least i feel completely confident in my choice. ayesha. meaning she who lives. has great meaning to me. and for shy reasons i cannot explain in public sorry

              Welcome Ayesha to the forum

We are looking forward to your participation and hope you will benefit from the discussions and articles on it

Your new name should be quite familiar! Just remind them of the movie "She" with Ursula Andress, based on the classic novel "She, who must be obeyed" , where the main characer is called Ayesha. As for changing it on computers, wouldn't they do so if the name was changed after marriage?

Although I know you know it is not required, and I totally agree, but these excuses by some may be genuine but also may not be about the name for others but about your new faith. Be strong and do not give in to their excuses. But also don't lose any for that. They will accept it anyway when they see you are serious about it.
