    If ya'll don't mind.

    • Who here thinks a "few" people will enter heaven? Is there anything in the Quran supporting this (currently I think so because I remember it always mentioning the "few" who are the believers)

    • Who else thinks the notion women constituting the majority of hell-dwellers to be bs?

    • Anything in the Quran talking about being in hell/heaven temporarily, and then permanently in the other place?

What the Qur'an says again and again is that destiny is to God and that to him everybody will return. Therefore janna and jahannam are both finite.

        Peace,
        Respectfully.

I don't believe that the majority of HellFire will be women and yes that is bs because let's look at the history Hitler, Saddam, Bush and his son, Milosevic, Stalin, Lenin, pharao, .... men are the ones who are causing most or sometimes all the problerms so i would assume that men will be the majority of HellFire but then again, that is only my guess.

        Peace.

          DONT YOU MEAN INFINITE?

Then again your post makes sense. Except I think you're taking that verse completely out of context. Returning to God means going back to him so that you will be judged. I doubt it is saying everyone's eventual abode is heaven, otherwise the Quran would contradict itself, but it's a wishful thought ain't it?

Actually, you're right. If you think about it, it's the men who are the main cause of evil in this world and it's the men who made evil innovations to the monotheistic religions. They have earned a painful chastisement.

By the way, I read from someone that Adam's spouse (Eve) was not given a name in the Quran. Is this true?

How is it out of context? And where does it say in the Qur'an that the the destiny being God and that we will return to Him is meant to be just in order to be judged and that then after Him we will go somewhere else? Even if it was understood en the sense that the yawm el din is a return to Him (is it?) fr the purpuso of being judged, when it says that our destiny is to Him, that destiny would still continue after yawm eddin, that is, our destiny would still continue as long as we exist, therefore, janna or jhannam cannot be our destiny, unless they are in God Himself. The Qur'an says we will be judged, but it doesn't say that our destiny will take us to the judgement, it says it will take us to God. It is the equivalent of saying that we came from dust and we will be returned to dust, we were born of the earth and we will be returned to the earth, which is meant that after we lie in the earth, that will be it, as far as we consider ourselves as bodies. We are put in the earth and we are not taken out next day to take us somewhere else.

            Oh? I did mean finite.

            Salaam

Dude, it says time and time again in the Quran that the 2 abodes (hell and heaven) are forever, meaning exactly what it says. You make it to heaven, you're staying there forever, so you are indeed taking that verse out of context.

If your definition of "returning to God" is departure from heaven and hell then it is incorrect. It must mean something different.

Though I can't say I like the concept of something being "forever". How do you commit enough sins to earn you a permanent abode in hell? Is there even an equivalent to that?

Heaven is another thing...that's blessings from God almighty.

                Indeed.

Again which Arabic word or words are you translating as forever? Do they mean exactly that and only that no matter what?

No women are mentioned by name in the Quran except Mary (and the reason is God`s promise to Mary that He will raise her above all other women- 342)

The word you are looking for is "Khalidun" translated as forever in 281-82 that immediately come to mind , but there are others , I think some with "abada" at ends of verse after 'Khalidun' . Here is the Root List meanings from Lane's Lexicon

Exactly. "Khawlideena feeha abada" means exactly "staying in it forever"

                      ...wow...

Can someone quote me a verse that has "khalideena feeha abada" while talking about HELL, because I just now found one in Quran talking about Heaven.

So far, I've seen only "khalidoon" when it comes to hell. I also found "they will not come out of it" but does this necessarily translate to "forever". Man not sure...but it sounds like it tho...(

I've found just one that says "feeha abada" (in it forever) in regards to paradise.

...there IS a verse saying when the unjust will not come out until the camel passes through the needle's eye. If this is NOT allegorical, then I guess hell isn't forever, but if it is, then it could mean that hell is forever. God says he only knows the meanings of the allegorical verses in the Quran after all.

I have some questions about Paradise, that are following

                          1. If shaitan is not allowed to enter in Paradise then how he misguide the Adam and Eve ?

                          2. Is we allowed to have wife as in earth, there in paradise (same wife of earth)?

                          3. As we have some Virgins in Paradise, then what about my wife, is she also get Men there. And as we have Virgins, Is it allowed to have sex with them, as our wife present there ?. And how much we get virgins there ?

                          4. Is we allowed to meet our earthly friends, girlfriends, relatives, family etc. there in Paradise.

                          5. Can we visit to earth after entering paradise and is we allowed to go one planet to another across the universe.

                          6. Is we allowed to have use Earthly Facilities there in paradise. Such as Vehicles, Electronics etc...

                          7. What will be the garments there, and what about our modesty.

                          8. What will be the transport system there?

These are the questions that have aksed by my some friends and so i want answer from you.

Please sir give me answer through Quran... I will be very very thankful to you for this.

And if you have some article regarding to these questions then give me or provide me that link with thanks.

                          salaam ali raza,

what is ?jannah?? is it equavalent to ?paradise?? if it is, does the term ?paradise? that we hold in mind be adequately descriptive of the arabic word ?jannah??

in the dictionaries you will find ?jannah? to mean, among others, ?garden? or ?a garden concealed by palm trees, usually of a grapevine.? for ?garden? I believe the arabs prefer to use ?bustan? over ?jannah?. (correct me if I am wrong on this.)

so by now you have 2 gardens; one is a rose garden, which is fondly referred to as ?bustan?, while there is yet another garden, for example a grapevine concealed against public view by a row of palm trees planted around it, which the arabs called ?jannah?.

But what does the qur?an say about ?jannah??

                          The most popular phrase is

                          jannatin tajree min tahtiha al-anhar

this phrase is mostly understood to mean

                          Gardens, beneath which rivers flow

                          put please consider this
?the concealed garden (jannatin) is progressing into (tajree min tahtiha) better days (al-anhar)?

the concealed garden is a state rather than a place.

we also learn in the qur?an that adam and his ?zauj? were emmitted out of ?jannah?, because the people in ?jannah? then argued (tricked into it by satan) among themselves. emitted here means they were expelled from the concealed/'invisible' state into the revealed state (thus they require clothes after being emitted out of ?jannah?). and we also learnt that they were also told to ease off the antagonism (the tendency to argue, debate, quarrel, fight, ridicule, etc.) among themselves.

to go to paradise is perhaps to go to the state that which we or adam were first created. that concealed/?invisible? state of being ? yes, adam did not need any clothes before being emitted out of that state. are we going there? perhaps not. it does not, however, depend on what do you think you are.

you are a 'spiritual being' in a human experience, and that's the very reason we view things like the average human beings see them - wife, girl-friend, wines, honeys, rivers, gardens, cars, computers, etc. when we leave this body of ours, we will be totally spiritual beings again. no. you are not the one that people keep six feet underground! so, don't get too attached to worldly things. otherwise you will have difficulty to leave your body or returning to God.

so, what shall we do? lets go back to the quote ?the concealed garden (jannatin) is progressing into (tajree min tahtiha) better days (al-anhar)?

what does it mean? 'jannah' is a reward to those who ''amiloo salihan' or do improvements or implement the self reforms or mending their ways, from being misguided to being guided, when guidance is received. for the, God will imrove their lives and make the 'jannah' coming closer to them. thus, ?the concealed garden (jannatin) is progressing into (tajree min tahtiha) better days (al-anhar)?

essentially the effect is, your today is always better than yesterday. for e.g., you may have problems/obstacles today, just like yesterday or the days before, but today, your problems/obstacles is solved without a headache, as if the solutions are already in place, or arranged, for you. God is the creator, and He is the master arranger. He could always arrange for your problems/obstacles to be easily solved. if you are on the right track, the path of God, then you will easily discern this phrase, ?the concealed garden (jannatin) is progressing into (tajree min tahtiha) better days (al-anhar).?

if your days are getting worse and worse, then essentially the opposite has happened. this is a simple check to know whether you are on the right track or otherwise. yes, God is giving signals to each and everyone of us. it is up to us to mend our ways or not.

and please always remember, that though one is punished in this life, there is still the greater punishment of the hereafter. and likewise, though one is rewarded with 'jannah', the greater reward is still there in the hereafter.

but whether some of your queries hold or otherwise is anybody's guess - we have no one already there to tell us. hehehe... sorry, no experience yet.

the bottom-line is, if you can discern the ?the concealed garden (jannatin) is progressing into (tajree min tahtiha) better days (al-anhar)?, then be fully assured that the greater 'jannah' is there for you in the hereafter.

but this is just my personal comprehension. i never ask you anything, but just consider to ponder without prejudice.

                          peace
                          mohammed noh

Well, it DOES say the dwellers of both places are staying in there forever (abada...)

However no mentioning of paradise or hell lasting forever...but since paradise apparently has always been there (i think...) it won't perish...

But since hell isn't even made yet, it will be made then perish along with it's disbelievers because they will achieve "just punishment" as God promises...

So...when hell perishes (if at all) it's dwellers will go with it...since they obviously don't deserve paradise...I think

                            Allah knows best.
