Did I say that it's not to be taken literally?

I am just responding to the 'Hell is a dream' frenzy.

You were adressing my post. If you didnt want to do that then you shouldnt have adressed it. I never wrote that it is all allegorical.

I am no longer a Sunna-rejecter. See 4:59-65, 62:2-4, 3:31, 4:156, 7:157 Messenger teaches and is to be followed and obeyed. Examples of revelation received which is not in the Qur'an: 3:123-126, 33:37, 2:187, 66:3, 62:9.

                      Whats the meaning of mutashabih?

In my very humble knowledge, it is the verses with multiple/hidden meanings or of which the exact nature can't be decided.

All of God's knowledge in the Quran about the unseen, is considered mutashabih.

For someone from the poles, "hell" is not that painful.
But again saying it's allegorical does not necessarily mean it is less painful. Just as saying the description of paradise is allegorical does not mean it's less amusing paradise maybe far more beautiful and hell far more painful, but we cannot imagine them except through descriptions of things we know. Some people commit suicide by burning themselves surely they find fire less painful than the "hell" they are living, yet we cannot imagine what "hell" makes them burn themselves.

                        Right.

                        Salaam

Tell me again! I come from a very hot country and now am living in one that can be very cold. Have been in both hells, but ...hot is better.

they have derived that from a quranic verse

7613 (in the heaven) They relax therein on luxurious furnishings. They suffer neither the heat of the sun, nor intense cold.
