Following verse mention this AAamihim(Their year) . Why not only after this year? Is this because polytheists used a different calendar system?
928 Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo innama almushrikoona najasun fala yaqraboo almasjida alharama baAAda AAamihim hatha wain khiftum AAaylatan fasawfa yughneekumu Allahu min fadlihi in shaa inna Allaha AAaleemun hakeemun
928 O you who believe, the polytheists are impure, so let them not approach the Restricted Temple after this year of theirs; and if you fear poverty, then God will enrich you from His blessings if He wills. God is Knowledgeable, Wise

Yes, I think that is a good answer. In my view sanat is the godmade solar year and 'aam is a manmade calendar year, which calender is dependig on context.
