Great flood, a tsunami?

Hello, I was reading today and I found this

1140 from quran.com
, until when Our command came and the oven overflowed, We said, "Load upon the ship of each two mates and your family, except those about whom the word has preceded, and whoever has believed." But none had believed with him, except a few.

When the oven overflowed can mean a lava eruption-earthquare or a movement of the tectonic plates that created a huge tsunami? Nowhere in the Quran it says "all earth was flooded" I think.

Do you know if this is contradicting the Bible?

The word that you are translating as "oven" is At-Tanru (&#1615. Per Lane, this word can mean ?a kind of oven? OR ?a place where the water of a valley collects?. I believe the second meaning is more appropriate in this verse.

And yes, I believe this indicates it was a local event - but it flooded the entire known world for the community of Noah. My hypothesis is it could be one of the great late ice age floods that happened due to melting of ice in the mountains.

May Allah guide us all to the straight route.

A lot of ancient people, from every part of the wrold talk about some very big catastrophic event that happend in the past, read Read more here. I personaly believe that entire Earth was covered with water or flooded in some way, I also think that great pyramids of Egypt were destroyed in this event and pharaos who came later did not built them at all. But this is only my view.

first, God don't punish all the world because simply people of noah reject him.

second it is obvious from 1140 and 2327 that people of noah ware asked to go on the ship after then tennour was erupted.

i think there is bad traduction of 23-28.

2327 So We inspired him ?Construct the ship under Our eyes and Our inspiration. Then, when Our command comes and the chamber erupts, then you shall take in it a pair from each kind, and your family; except for those of them upon whom the word has come. And do not address Me regarding those who have done wrong, for they will be drowned.?
2328 So when you and those who are with you have embarked/istawayta on the ship, then say ?All praise is due to God who has saved us from the wicked people.?

in 2327, bads people are already drowned.
in 2328 good people pray god to have been saved.

in fact istawa in arabic can mean stabilized.
in the profound sea, tsunami is not dangerous at all. after the wave of tsunami passed, the ship can be said as "istawa" and people inside can be said as saved from the danger of being at coasts.

Regions where tsunami can occurs are not numerous.

However, quran place people of aad and thamud as successors of people of noah.
so the coast between oman and yemen is a more plausible candidate for tsunami of people of noah.
Noah was probably another yemenite/south arabian guy.
