peace Edip, I think concentrated targeting of several select companies is possibly a better idea than multiple company targeting. People generally like things simple and simple is often more effective. I have been a fan and follower of the boycott israel campaign for several years now. There are many websites out there discussing it. If the plan comes into effect, it will be best to have verifiable references along with the selected companies. Also, it may be worthwhile choosing companies with a significant presence in "Muslim" countries, as losing business for them might be quicker and thus more noticeable. Also, companies need to know why this is happening, so letting them know why is crucial to any campaign. I would like to spend time on this but I am thinly spread as it is in my own projects. And remember, even the tiniest of raindrops can wear away the largest immovable of stones. I wish you the best of luck and I hope you create a downpour.
Your suggestion makes sense. To be effective it must be companies that have presence in the Muslim world. I am already contacted by some graphic artists. I will inshallah contact some sponsors for the campaign during my trip to Asia next October.
Peace,
Edip -
I am following this debate with interest.
My appreciation to Edip Yuksel for his time, thoughts and commitment on this and to all others which are contributing their best.
The ideas put forward are whorthwhile furthering. I will try to put them forward where I am and see what can be done, other than in arab countries, also locally.
May god bless your sincere efforts and all efforts.

Do you not realise attempting to buy over anyone of those companies would require several billion at least? The effort required in opening stores and maintaining them is significantly more than donating time to a campaign. Are we shooting in the dark hoping to hit the target or are we applying a systematic approach?
Peace,
Respectfully.Of course. I know it would take billions and maybe even trillions of heavy USD, GBP and Euro and whatnot, i know all of this, why do you think i've been trying to bust the door of Hollywood since i was 13?
I keep saying and repeating one and the same thing but few people listen and even fewer want to unite. Sadly. But let's focus. Let's say that we want to buy just one of these four major stores, here in UK. let's say ASDA. UK has population of 60,000,000 people and little over 1,000,000 sunnis. I thinkt here are some 100 Muslims on this cute little island.
One would first need to get organised in a way that one would need a major group beuhind him who will accompany him/her to really buy ASDA. Board of directors or this one boss, whoever is at the top of ASDA, is a business person. He sees money. In Slovenia, such men have been selling even bigger estates and companies and making thousands and tens of thousands out of work.
Once we know and meet the director/s, we need to offer such a price that he won't be able to refuse. I believe with the help of The Exalted God The Most Powerful and without any threats or sneaky, crafty plans, this could work.
let's say we actually buy one of these companies. Then what? Then we exliminate from the shelfs these items pork, ham, bacon, tobacco products, pornographic material, alcohol and condoms (wait, wait, don't kill me just yet, please.) Then we lower the prices by, let's say 25%, give or take, right? The idea is to "steal" the customers from other stores, such as Sainsbury's, Tesco and M. Then - one can start thinking about buying these other stores i just mentioned.
This plan might sound crazy but my intention is good.
It also sounds undoable. I know.2249 So when Saul set out with the soldiers, he said ?God will test you with a river, whoever drinks from it is not with me, and whoever does not taste from it except one scoop with his hand is with me.? They all drank from it, except for a few of them. So when he and those who believed with him crossed it, they said ?We have no power today against Goliath and his soldiers!? But the ones who understood that they would meet God said ?How many a time has a small group beaten a large group with the permission of God, and God is with the patient ones!?
Where would one get billions of USD or GBP or Euro to buy anything like that? I was thinking with movie industry. It's one of the biggest industries in the world, right? I got fresh ideas and there is a small differnece between me and Hollywood writers i don't need naked women to score large audience and spending one year in Leicester is a solid proof for that. Thank God.
God bless you all.
Glory be to our God,

Why the fight over anything?
Well, for no fighting to be taking place anywhere in the world, an equilibrium (status quo) has to be maintained, namely peace. A single person could break this status quo by, lets say, a terrorist attack or by starting a war. The equilibrium that was present in the beginning (peace) would have to be re-attained through fighting back against the aggresors.
So you see, not every person is perfect (to say the least), so the equilibrium is always broken once a single person attacks someone/something.
About your question (I know that it was a rhetoric one, btw)... if you are talking about small things, like arguing, then it is probably greed, ego, stress, etc. - arguing/fighting is hard to avoid all the time.
Let me give you a situation/example
Imagine the whole world followed the Quran, and used only the Quran and common sense and reason for jurisprudence and leading a country... Imagine all people would uphold the Quran alone (and, as well as primarily God) as there guide... There wouldnt be any problems in the world, but, as we know, this example/situation is far, far, far,.... away from the reality. GW, the chapter 110 prophecy will come true in the near future...maybe there would be less problems in the world.
2217 They ask you about fighting in the restricted month. Say, "Fighting in it is great offense," yet repelling from the path of God and not appreciating Him and the Restricted Temple, driving its inhabitants out is far greater with God. Persecution is worse than being killed." They still will fight you until they turn you back from your system if they are able. Whoever of you turns back from his system, and dies as ingrates, then these have nullified their work in this life and the next; these are the people of the fire; there they will abide eternally!
2194 During the Sacred Months, aggression may be met by an equivalent response. If they attack you, you may retaliate by inflicting an equitable retribution. You shall observe Gpd and know that God is with the righteous.
2190 Fight in the cause of God against those who fight you, but do not transgress, God does not like the aggressors.
If we would end ignorace, intolerance and violence the the goal of no fighting going on on earth is realistic, but you see how unrealistic this is with all those hate-filled, unpeaceful, greedy people on earth.

Peace,
Respectfully.I think and believe that a large revolution and/or a huge, devastating war will happen in the next 50 years, give or take. I believe this because right after World War 2, Europe did exactly what Hitler wanted - it got united and now it's one country, has one currency and one flag. The flag of the NATO is not that much different then that swastika flag that use to dance on the stadium in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia.
Glory be to our God.

Peace.Sorry but Europe is not one country, it does not have one flag or one currency. UK, and a few other countries do not have the Euro. The Flag is for the EU not the countries that are members.

Alen, perhaps people do not want to unite with your plans because they are so impractical?
Of course, one could argue attempting to do something (no matter how impractical) is better than doing nothing, I guess.
I have a very strong preference for practical/efficient solutions to problems or when trying to achieve goals, i.e. the effort to benefit ratio, is favourable.
Now that PRL is nearing completion, GW by the end of the year. I have two projects in the pipeline which will form my biggest outreach campaign to date. If anyone wishes to contribute, personal message me.
-
@ Brother Wakas, Peace
what is PRL? And what 2 other outreach projects are you working on, and what kind of contributions would be useful?Peace @ Brother Alen, just FYI Uk has the Pound Sterling, Denmark has Danish Crowns and Switzerland has Swiss Francs (these are only the ones I know off the top of my head )

peace,
PRL = Project Root List
http//www.studyquran.co.uk/PRLonline.htmThe details of the two projects in the pipeline, are only privy to those involved in making them. At this stage, there is some content work that needs finished, which is not exactly difficult, just takes time, and the other component is finance. The money is already in place, but obviously, the more the better. If you wish to help, pm me.

Peace,
What do y'all think of this?

Do boycotts really affect the Palestinians?
180 Palestinian organisations and unions, in response to Israeli onslaught, have called for a campaign of Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions against Apartheid Israel.
http//www.bigcampaign.org/The boycott affects israelis far more than they like to admit - they are now being sneaky in the UK (and elsewhere??) labelling goods "West Bank" rather than "Israel" to trick people into buying Israeli products....
I have an excellent PDF fileTel Aviv University's Winter Bulletin 08/09 - with an article about how important their military research is for Israel - so I call for an academic boycott as well.... just some highlights from the article
?People are just not aware of how important university research is in general, and how much TAU contributes to Israel?s security in particular,? says TAU President Zvi Galil. ?I myself am awed by the magnitude and scientific creativity of the work being done behind the scenes at TAU that enhances the country?s civilian defense
capabilities and military edge,? Professor Galil says.?Military R&D in Israel would not exist without the universities. They carry out all the basic scientific investigation, which is then developed either by defense industries or the army,? says Ben-Israel.

Some well-known journalists are calling for the US to cut off aid to israel
http//andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/the_daily_dish/2009/11/leverage-against-netanyahu.html
This was a bit sickening
Remember also that American tax-payers helped finance the Gaza assault. At some point, the US has a right to say no mas.
