My personal quest with reforming Islam has been trying to revive Ijtihad(independent reasoning) and its sister Ijma(Consensus of community) as against the prevalent Taqlid(Blind Following) and Imamat(Glorifying of imam/Hero Worship). You know common sense can do wonders for people once they start using it. You know truth in itself is important but so is the system(of truth). The right system is based upon Ijtihad and Ijma and the alternative system is based upon taqlid and imamat. Currently the alternative system is in practice everywhere. Working on changing that. police

I believe that by reforming them back to God-alone, there would then be no difference between them.

If we actually did this, there'd be no "christianity", only Islaam...
The only way to really do this, actively conform all the people to the message of "God ALONE", we'd have to orchestrate some type of public debate on the differences between "Islaam" and "Christianity". If more Christians were knowledgeable of the scriptures (contained in both the Bible and the Qur'aan), then they wouldn't be so opposed to the Islaamic viewpoint. But they reject the Qur'aan because they reject Islaam, and they reject Islaam because they reject Muslims, and they reject Muslims because of the worldwide media's anti-Islaamic propaganda, especially now that the issue of "terrorism" is being publicized all over the world as a "muslim problem". Because so many of them think of muslims as terrorists and extremists, they don't want to peer into the Qur'aan or study Islaamic doctrines.
If we stop the hatred and anti-Islaamic propaganda, then we'll have a better chance of educating the world on the real values of Qur'aanic Islaam...
The reason I relay this from an Islaamic viewpoint is because it would be a lot HARDER to do this with the Bible amongst traditional and orthodox Christians. The reason that's the case is because the Bible (whether it was changed, misinterpreted, mistranslated, or whatever) actually calls Jesus the "son of God", it actually depicts his followers committing acts of worship toward him, it actually says that he died for the sins of humanity, it says that he was born of a virgin and raised from the dead, and it depicts him as the "savior" of humanity, or at least of the Jews. So, it's highly unlikely that anyone will be able to educate the world about the "God alone" concept using the Bible itself, especially when it comes to teaching hardcore, "die-hard" Christians. All they'll do is refute our arguments with other Biblical verses, whether they conflict with other Biblical concepts or not...

I understand your point and agree with you that the idea of Christians adopting the Quran is unrealistic as things are at the moment. But the quotes you give from the bible are not quite accurate, "Son of God" was a term used for many so-called holy men and the Roman Emperors. The raising from the dead can be proved to have been added. Savior of humanity is only mentioned in the Gospel of John which can be proved to be false. If you argue with a traditional Christian, they will always quote the Gospel of John, you can always use quotes from the other gospels to refute their argument. The visiting of Mary by an angel is the identical story that appears in the bible about the mother of Sampson, John the Baptist, etc. almost word for word.

I hear you and I agree with you, but I know from experience that this doesn't really matter. Many people are called "sons" of God in the Tanakh, and God even says that Israel is His "firstborn son". But people don't care, they will still refute everything we say with the gospel of "John", and if not with John, then with the writings of Paul. Then, the idea of Jesus being crucified and raised from the dead is mentioned throughout the Biblical new testament, not only in John. Most of the books of the apostles spoke about it being a very important idea, probably the most important belief in the entire doctrine of Christianity, and it's also given high significance in the Acts of Apostles. The same is true concerning Jesus being a "savior" for the people. Not only does John mention this, but the writings of Paul clearly depict this too, and this is where the entire religion of Christianity stems from - the writings of Paul...
