From my discussions here, i am seeing different positions from the folks that only regard the Quran as guide in their as muslims. I will run this poll for 7 days and publish the results. Again please dont take this poll if you follow hadiths in your islam or if you are not muslim.

I have dealt with the hikmah position before as it was one of the arguments used by Al Shafi where he claimed their is another source of revelation in Islam which he refered to as Sunnah.

Al Shafi claimed that Hikmah in the Quran means sunnah. However I have pointed out that the Quran uses a singular verb to describe the Quran and Hikmah plus it also says we should recited the Quran and Hikmah. I said this is not possible to include Sunnah since what is this sunnah we are to recite in our homes? The fact that the Quran uses singular verb to describe the Quran and hikmah means the Quran sees them as a singular noun, if not in its physical form at least it sees it as s singular source of data. You can not obey God and His messenger if both contradict each other. Sunnis follow their sunnah regardless of what the Quran says, but this is obeying Sunnah at the expense of the Quran and not obeying both. You simply can not obey both the Quran and the teachings of the sects since they are mutually exclusive.

Plus the Quran also says we should obey those who are entrusted with authority among us. We do not see that as Sunnah. So the arguments are too broad regarding what is meant by Hikmah and what is meant by obey the messenger.

In anyways what this hikmah is and what the messenger preached should not contradict the Quran or its teachings. Many hadiths do and most Sunni or Shia teachings do contradict the teachings of the Quran. So much so that these sects do not even consider those who follow the teachings of the Quran as Muslims. This to me shows the contradiction between the teachings of the Quran and the sects.

        No longer a Sunna-rejecter

2454 Say "Obey God, and obey the messenger." But if they turn away, then he is only responsible for his obligation, and you are responsible for your obligations. If you obey him, you will be guided. The messenger is only required to deliver clearly.

1015 When Our clear signs are recited to them, those who do not wish to meet Us said, "Bring a Quran other than this, or change it!" Say, "It is not for me to change it from my own accord, I merely follow what is inspired to me. I fear if I disobey my Lord the retribution of a great day!"

1016 Say, "Had God wished, I would not have recited it to you, nor would you have known about it. I have been residing amongst you a lifetime before this; do you not reason?"

1017 Who is more wicked than one who invents lies about God or denies His signs? The criminals will never succeed.

7517 It is for Us to collect it and collect it into a reading (Quran).

7518 So when We relate it, you shall follow such a reading (Quran).

7519 Then it is for Us to clarify it

Where is Muhammad asked to explain the Quran?

2530 The messenger said, "My Lord, my people have deserted this Quran."

I am no longer a Sunna-rejecter. See 4:59-65, 62:2-4, 3:31, 4:156, 7:157 Messenger teaches and is to be followed and obeyed. Examples of revelation received which is not in the Qur'an: 3:123-126, 33:37, 2:187, 66:3, 62:9.

Muhammad Ibn Abdullah teach wisdom to the native / pagan folks of arabian dessert and its neighboring area, he act as the 'messenger' who wrote the Quran by his hands, initially. The so called Hadith a.k.a Gossip as we know today is of course just a collection of rumours.

This rumours as the name implied contains many alleged sayings attributed to Mr. Muhammad Ibn Abdullah which contains minimum if not any wisdom at all.

I never judge the book by its cover, i judge the book by its content..

            Peace,
            Respectfully.

"Have they not looked at the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all the things God has created? Does it ever occur to them that the end of their life may be near? Which HADITH, besides this (Quran) do they believe in?" 7185

"Among the people, there are those who uphold baseless HADITH, and thus divert others from the path of God without knowledge, and take it in vain. These have incurred a shameful retribution." 316

"God has revealed herein the BEST HADITH; a book that is consistent and points out both ways (to heaven and hell). The skins of those who reverence their Lord cringe therefrom, then their skins and their hearts soften up for God's message. Such is God's guidance; he bestows it upon whomever He wills. As for those sent astray by God, nothing can guide them." 3923

"These are God's revelations (Quran) that we recite to you truthfully. In which HADITH other than God and His revelations do they believe?" 456

"Let them produce a HADITH like this (Quran) if they are truthful." 5234

"Therefore, let Me deal with those who reject this HADITH(Quran); we will lead them on whence they never perceive." 6844

"Which HADITH other than this do they uphold?" 7750

Why did God permitted these so called Hadiths ? The answer is in next verse.

"We have permitted the enemies of every prophet - human and jinn devils - to inspire in each other FANCY WORDS , in order to deceive. Had your Lord willed, they would not have done it. You shall disregard them and their FABRICATIONS. This is to let the minds of those who do not believe in the Hereafter listen to such FABRICATIONS, and accept them, and thus expose their real convictions.

            Peace.

Plaese check out what your holy man is saying here will you not believe him.

              1. Is there any other notable distinction of the Holy Quran?

One that may be mentioned is that the Holy Quran tells us all about itself. From various places in it we learn that it is a Book called the Quran, a revelation from God, communicated to the Holy Prophet Muhammad, coming through the angel Gabriel, in the Arabic language. The Quran also tells us that it has been revealed in portions, not all at once, and that the first revelation came to the Holy Prophet in the month of Ramadaan.

The Holy Quran refers to itself by several names which show its qualities and the work it came to do. For instance, al-furqan which distinguishes between right and wrong, al-Hakim full of wisdom, al-nur the Light, al-huda the guidance, etc.

The unique features mentioned here and in the answer to the last question concern just the text of the Holy Book. There are many distinctive points about the Holy Quran as regards its teachings, and these will be found throughout this booklet
