    Alen,

You say alcohol is forbidden while people in your own sect say it is allowed. This is what I wanted to ask. why different interpretation of a Holy Book?

    Peace,
    Respectfully.

I'm sorry, i should've quoted the relevant verse

2219 They ask you about intoxicants and gambling. Say ?In them is great harm, and a benefit for the people; but their harm is greater than their benefit.? And they ask you how much they are to give, say ?The excess.? It is thus that God clarifies for you the revelations that you may think.

590 O you who believe, intoxicants, and gambling, and sacraments, and fortunes are an affliction used by the devil. You shall avoid him so that you may be successful.

    Peace.

I don't want to turn this into a different topic as alcohol is discussed in many topics but the above verses don't forbid intoxicants. It's the excess we have to be careful of with anything.

      PEACE

This is called diversity, however we are reminded in the Quran to check our own self(nafs) first but sadly most refuse to evaluate themselves and spend all their time pointing the finger at others.... Don?t look at me look at them.

This ambiguity has caused lots of problems for a person trying to convert into this Religion.

Ambiguity is caused by ? fund0?s? from all sects who keep the bewildered herd bewildered .....

It is no different from Christians with the Bible or Jews with the Tanakh. Everyone interprets them differently.

            Peace Freemind0,

Every book that has been branded as "holy" is fated to be complicated (i.e. multi-interpretations). )
Even books that are not "holy" but are important works of literature have multiple interpretations.

The problem lies not with having multiple interpretations.
The problem lies (or starts) when a certain understanding is to be made an absolute truth to be followed by the mass without question.
Hence, differences in opinions or understandings should be normal and expected.

What kind of easiness do you call it when some of your friends say Alcohol is forbidden while some of them say it is not. some believe in virgin birth of Isa while others say he had a father. Do you call this an easy Quran. if it were easy to understand, we would now have not so many interpretations about a single verse of Quran.

Different interpretations yes there are no doubt.
                    There are only two possibilities
Either the message is confused which it is not at all .
Or the people are confused .

Why are people having different interpretations and meanings of Quran.

                      Peace,
Here is an answer to your Question from your Lord

The people used to be one nation, then God sent the prophets as bearers of good news and warners, and He sent down with them the Book with the truth so that they may judge between the people in what they were disputing. But after receiving the clarity, the people disputed in it due to animosity between them. And God guided those who believed with His permission regarding what they disputed in of the truth. And God guides whoever He wishes to a straight path.
                      2213

When people are disputing, find the truth yourself from the Quran...If God wants to guide you, He will.

                      Peace

Quran (readings of scriptures/collections of channeling) is not complicated at all. You just need to realise the Diving withing yourself.

                            Be blessed.

No need for consensus. Our interpretation has to be ever changing to get the real blessings from the quran. When we reach a consensus on a law giving verse in the quran and bar anyone else from a different interpretation then we are shackling the message of the quran. I believe thats what the scholars have done to this amazing scripture.

                              PEACE

No!---Allah's Quran is not a complicated Book.

It is The Easiest Book on the face of the earth,-----to understand.
And It is The Most Difficult Book on the face of the earth,-----to follow.

People of the last Ummah turn away from Allah's Quran,---because there is Truth in It.

                                      Peace,

Even let say for sake of simplicity the Quran was revealed just recently and in English, still people would find ways to understand it differently, this is normal occurrence in human communication, because in our language there are expressions that do not mean what they say.. and reason why as for the Quran people before use to try to justify some off their acts or behaviour through interpretation, but now in this day an age the people who are "truth seekers" are simply try to understand some of the issues.

But again because we are human, we're inherently inpatient, and thus we want a clear understanding that will explain every single thing without delay...
unfortunately, such a thing doesn't exist and we might even never witness it in our life time .

Finally is always down to us to stick what is relevant for us, as example there is no interest in me knowing what is the Judgement of a thief, because I'm neither a Judge and nor a thief ( as far as I know).. and this is valid for may other issues.

The main thing is we ought to compete all towards righteousness, and not who is winning the argument

                                      Regards

This ambiguity has caused lots of problems for a person trying to convert into this Religion.

Insincere readers are diverted from the meaning of the Quran Surah 7146, 1745-47, 1857, 4144, 3923

"When thou recitest the Koran, We place between thee, and those who do not believe in the world to come, a curtain obstructing, and We lay veils upon their hearts lest they understand it, and in their ears heaviness. And when thou mentionest thy Lord only in the Koran, they turn in their traces in aversion. We know very well how they listen when they listen to thee, and when they conspire, when the evildoers say, 'You are only following a man bewitched!'" Surah 1745-47

"God has sent down the fairest discourse as a Book, consimilar in its oft-repeated, whereat shiver the skins of those who fear their Lord; then their skins and their hearts soften to the remembrance of God. That is God's guidance, whereby. He guides whomsoever He will; and whomsoever God leads astray, no guide has he." Surah 3923

?Belongs not sincere religion to Allah? And those who take protectors, apart from Him -- 'We only serve them that they may bring us nigh in nearness to Allah' -- surely Allah shall judge between them touching that whereon they are at variance. Surely Allah guides not him who is a liar, unthankful.? Surah 393

Don't be concerned with what others are doing.
Be concerned about what you are doing, and what you are following. You are only responsible for yourself.

"And if you obey most of those in the earth, they will lead you astray from Allah's way; they follow naught but conjecture and they only lie." Surah 6116

                                        There are few believers. Surah 1140, 5136, 3824, 3420, 73, 612-3, 6116, 331-2

The main thing is we ought to compete all towards righteousness, and not who is winning the argument

                                        This is Truth.

"Every man has his direction to which he turns; so be you forward in good works. Wherever you may be, God will bring you all together; surely God is powerful over everything." Surah 2148

"It is not piety, that you turn your faces to the East and to the West. True piety is this to believe in God, and the Last Day, the angels, the Book, and the Prophets, to give of one's substance, however cherished, to kinsmen, and orphans, the needy, the traveller, beggars, and to ransom the slave, to perform the prayer, to pay the alms. And they who fulfil their covenant when they have engaged in a covenant, and endure with fortitude misfortune, hardship and peril, these are they who are true in their faith, these are the truly godfearing." Surah 2177

                                        Peace.

Good question. Here are a few answers that might confuse you even more

                                          1. If God wished to have those with frozen brains to follow his book, then He could easily make it all like a story book, as He provides some examples in chapter 12.

                                          2. If God wished every person born in a Muslim family and country just follow the book they inherited, then it could eliminate the words and expressions with multiple meanings.

The Quran is a book that distinguishes those who give lipservice from those who pursue truth at any cost. The Quran is a unique test book which make it impossible to cheat by copying from others.

The prophetic fullfillment of the number 19 has proved this point millions of times. On this very forum, you will see many who give lipservice to the Quran, yet demonstrate ignorance and arrogance against one of its greatest signs. The Quran is a great miracle that only those few who value truth and The Truth above everything can witness.

                                          Peace,
                                          Edip
