    Salaam,
Wanted to share something I found in the Quran which relates to psychology. My Arabic is pretty bad so wanted to run it by some Arabic speakers here

    5016
And We have created Man and know what his soul whispers to him and We are closer to him than his
= (Root Meaning) tie/fasten with rope, rope/cord, covenant, a thing by means of which one snares/catches/snares
=(Root Meaning) to be present, arrive at (any water to drink), go down into, draw near to (a place).

    5017
When from right and from left
/ = (Root Meaning) To meet, meet with, encounter, find, find out a thing, see, come across, experience, suffer from, occur, undergo, endure, lean upon, recieve, come face to face, go in the direction of or towards.
= (Root meaning) to sit down, remain behind, to hold back, to tarry, lie in wait, sit still, remain unmoved, desist, abstain, refrain, lurk in ambush, set snares, neglect, act of sitting, foundations/bases, women who are past child bearing age, elderly spinsters past child bearing age, one who sits at home, one who sits still, seat or place of sitting, station, encampment.

    5018
He does not utter a word except with having
= (Root meaning) to guard, observe, watch, respect, regard, wait for, tie by the neck, warn, fear, control.
= (Root meaning) to be ready, prepared, at hand, provide a thing for the future.

So, I think the verses are talking about how God is closer to us than our stream of consciousness. Which is the point where the left and right brain hemispheres interact to produce our comprehension. And that there is an observer that is watching this process. What are your thoughts?
