    Salaam Zee,

your intellect is overwhelming, but for reference Islam is not a religion, and never was, I suppose thoughtlessness, if practiced for long enough, results in less thought as a devolving paradigm.

Have you considered what Islam is at any level?

It is not a religion than pray tell me what it is.
I think Islam is a religion as well as a system of life.

      Salaam Zees,

Its a Deen, the Qur'an condemns all religion, is the short answer.

The Christianised Muslims have adopted the concepts of Christianity to replace the concepts of Islam.

This has the effect of confusing the translations, even in Arabic, as modern Arabic itself has to translate classical Arabic, they replace these words with Christian/Jewish/Zoroastrian/Hadith concepts.

The Deen is the guide to the foundations of the systems, expressed within the Qur?an, although with the heavy contamination within the translations, from Christianity, Judaism, Zoroastrianism and Hadith, its difficult to see the simple truth for most.

When you consider the difference between the two, Islam and religion, they stand as polar opposites.

It is difficult to use the relevant Qur?anic references due to this contamination, however if these contaminations are remove it is free from any doubt, a clean translation of the original Arabic into English has been started on servantofthelight.com, but its still early days, only a small amount has been translated so far.

        From PRL

Dal-Ya-Nun = obedience/submissiveness, servility, religion, high/elevated/noble/glorious rank/condition/state, took/receive a loan or borrowed upon credit, become indebted, in debt, under the obligation of a debt, contract a debt, repay/reimburse a loan, rule/govern/manage it, possess/own it, become habituated/accustomed to something, confirmation, death (because it is a debt everyone must pay), a particular law/statute, system, custom/habit/business, a way/course/manner of conduct/acting, repayment/compensation.

In the context of Islam, 'system' and 'way/course/manner of conduct/acting' are the best ones of these definitons.

I am no longer a Sunna-rejecter. See 4:59-65, 62:2-4, 3:31, 4:156, 7:157 Messenger teaches and is to be followed and obeyed. Examples of revelation received which is not in the Qur'an: 3:123-126, 33:37, 2:187, 66:3, 62:9.

            Salaam Ibrahim Khalil,

you are referring to Hadith based practice, I have no interest in Hadith, I get the feeling you wish to trip me up on something I have written on my website, please feel free to express any point you wish to. I am open to any truth, and I would change a view if it was proved through reason to need adjustment.

I reject Hadith, I also reject religion, god, worship and ritual, among other things, but I only wish to allow the seeds of reason to be planted in others, they can only grow on fertile ground.

            Which essay did you read?

You're kidding, right? As I have seen from your website, you are currently working on a translation of the Quran. Perhaps you have not yet come across the following verses

6118 So eat from that on which God's name has been mentioned, if you indeed acknowledge His signs.
6118 Fakuloo mimma thukira ismu Allahi AAalayhi in kuntum bi-ayatihimu/mineena

6119 Why should you not eat that on which God's name has been mentioned, when He has sufficiently detailed to you what has been made forbidden; except what you are forced to? Many misguide by their desires without knowledge; your Lord is fully aware of the transgressors.

6119 Wama lakum alla ta/kuloo mimmathukira ismu Allahi AAalayhi waqad fassalalakum ma harrama AAalaykum illa ma idturirtumilayhi wa-inna katheeran layudilloona bi-ahwa-ihimbighayri AAilmin inna rabbaka huwa aAAlamu bialmuAAtadeena

6120 Abstain what is openly an evil deed as well as what is discreet; those who commit evil deeds will be punished for what they have taken.

6120 Watharoo thahiraal-ithmi wabatinahu inna allatheena yaksiboonaal-ithma sayujzawna bima kanoo yaqtarifoona

6121 Do not eat from what God's name has not been mentioned, for it is vile. The devils inspire their supporters to argue with you; and if you obey them, then you have set up partners.

6121 Wala ta/kuloo mimma lam yuthkari ismu Allahi AAalayhi wa-innahu lafisqun wa-inna alshshayateenalayoohoona ila awliya-ihim liyujadilookumwa-in ataAAtumoohum innakum lamushrikoona

And mind you, I dont really know anybody of the hadith followers who always invoked the name of God upon his/her food.

              Peace

                Salaam PROGRESSIVE1993,

as I thought you had some silly idea, you seriously think Allah has a name?

You think this translation is accurate? anyway you say whatever you wish, over whatever you wish, superstition is not Allah's way.

Have you compared the correct translations on the site with the Christianised versions in common use? Food for thought.

It's a guide why would it be be difficult to understand?

                  I disagree with that translation.

Zikr's primary meaning is remember/remind/bear in mind/mindful, etc...

In Qur'Aan, it is clearly stated to remember our Rubb=creator with beutiful names, meaning thereby his attributes, such as Malik, Qadeer, Nur, and so on and on. By understanding his attributes, which can be in any language, we get some idea as to who the God may be. It has been strange, otherwise, as to why the Creator of this entire universe, chooses to give himself an Arabic proper name/noun. This raises the question whether God wants to be known with a proper noun in a particular language or otherwise by all his attributes, which could explain some of his qualities in any language. The gods in all other religions have been given names based on the place of origin of that particular religion. If the creator of all , and the creator of this entire universe, chooses to send his guiding principles, it could have been in any language, but somewhat hard to conceive that he would choose a proper noun also in that specific language. I dont have an answer, so please forgive me God. He is the creator of people in the jungle of Amazons and also of the snow covered Eskimos and as much as, the creator of the present day Muslims.
                    Praying for his guidance.

                    Peace to all.

Sorry but you can't eat properties!

                      Who on earth eats properties?

                      429
O ye who believe! Eat not up your property among yourselves in vanities But let there be amongst you Traffic and trade by mutual good-will Nor kill (or destroy) yourselves for verily Allah hath been to you Most Merciful!

Needs to be translated correctly, good luck to Br. Nur for what he has started. peace

                        Salaam Simple,

I feel like I just insulted you, the name you have picked can be used in that manor. Anyway, thank you for your support.

                        Salaam kn,

Allah is not a proper noun, you should read God and Allah on my website for a full explanation, if you would like to understand my perspective on that.

                          Respectfully.

Islam is not a religion, Islam is a way of life, it's not just prayer, fasting, charity, reading The Quran, saying salam alaykum and so on, those are just few elements of Islam. Islam is all the time, you're a Muslim all the time, even when you go to the toilet, during sex, when you're angry, asleep and even when you burp.

Following The Quran means you follow it 24 hours a day, every day of your life, as long as your heart is beating.

God bless you all, sisters and brothers.

                              Salaam Alen,

yes I am in total agreement with your view, Islam is not a religion at all, it has been converted into such to prevent Islam from being lived, the conceptual model systems expressed within the Qur'an are almost unknown by professing Muslims, and as these conceptual models are Islam, how can these people be Muslim.

Islam is not the stating of a religious belief, but the way you conduct yourself and your affairs, and the establishment of the conceptual systems outlined within the Qur?an, this is why those who wish to be Muslim suffer so much hardship.

They take sovereigns as their lords, when this act is fundamentally at odds with the concepts within the Qur?an, were not even Muhammad can be your sovereign.

They take usury and defend Riba by attempting to argue that these concepts are different, while there simple synonyms.

They establish states and nations, dividing humanity into sects, they argue over the words of their dead sovereign lord, Muhammad, words he never uttered, and divide themselves further, when your only sovereign can be Allah, your only Umma humanity.

They establish democracies, when no central authority system has ever been promoted within the Qur?an, we are directed to establish a Tribal Hidage, as described in King Offa of Mercia on my website.

                                  Salaam Progressive1993,

interestingly I came across an article just posted on ourbeacon on this subject, you may find interesting, I find no benefit in quoting Christianised translations at me, but as you please, say BISMILLAH and eat it, is fine, simple and quick, as a reminder for those less thoughtful to recognise the source of their food, thoughts, existence, and this is the real function of the guidance, its easy to forget the true nature of existence, but I think I am always mindful of the source. The thought is all that is required, an intention, all is connected.

The article fully agrees with what I have said.

                                    From the article

By reading 16114, we note that the command of uttering God?s Name is related to whatever we eat, ANYTHING, and not just meat. This includes fruit, vegetables, or even snacks like cookies, biscuits or peanuts etc. Should we slaughter fruit, cookies and peanuts? So, the only way to obey God?s law is to take His Name before eating all foods.
Verse 55 makes it clear that God has made it Lawful for us to eat the food of People of the Book (Jews, Christians). As the Christians in particular do not take God?s Name before slaughtering, their food is still lawful for us. This can only mean that the duty is laid on each of us before eating our food and nothing else.

                                    Anyways, do as you please.

                                    peace

I am no longer a Sunna-rejecter. See 4:59-65, 62:2-4, 3:31, 4:156, 7:157 Messenger teaches and is to be followed and obeyed. Examples of revelation received which is not in the Qur'an: 3:123-126, 33:37, 2:187, 66:3, 62:9.
