Do you think that you would enter Paradise without God distinguishing those among you who strive, and without distinguishing the steadfast?

Here is a different translation of the same Ayah from QXP, which conveys a different idea than yours.

In Message of Freeminders is also uses distinguishingh.
3142 Or did you think that you would enter the Paradise without
God distinguishing those who would strive among you and
      distinguishing those who are patient

        yes, different but incorrect! ;D

If you really want to learn GOD's message stay away from QXP.

        thanks

Message also says the same,Allama Nooruddin , so does RK, so what is so different from QXP.
          RK translation.
3142] Do you expect to enter Paradise without GOD distinguishing those among you who strive, and without distinguishing those who are steadfast?

because they are afraid to say "God has not known yet"

but not afraid to translate it incorrectly.

This is just like saying can God be unfair?
When we think of God as "someone" who can and can't.
We do not, and cannot, know what God is
So let's just think of what His attributes are...

                I can't say for sure.

The English translations always come across a bit muddled for me.

Let me consult my alien sheik.

Doesn't 230 imply that God knows the future?

                  FM translation

And your Lord said to the angels "I am placing a successor on earth." They said "Would You place in it those who would corrupt in it, and spill blood, while we sing Your glory, and praise You?" He said "I know what you do not know."

                    hi jack

not really it only shows God knows more than angels. but if you look at the history and current situation and read that verse again it would imply that angels knew our future better. ;D

we are living in a horrible world

                    Hydrogen bombs 3409

                    The message is PEACE!

Do you think that you will enter the garden while Allah has not yet known those who strive hard from among you, and (He has not) known the patient.
                      peace
how do you understand the above verse?
                      thanks

                      Peace,
                      Respectfully. handshake

I think we need to strive hard and be patient and only then we'll enter The Garden, God willing, right? God lives outside Space-Time Continuum, right, so He The Most Wise already knows who will enter Heaven/HellFire.

                      Peace. bravo

why? what's wrong with it? who's to say YOU use the perfect translation.

but actually, we CAN'T understand it as 'God not knowing it', because it would then contradict rest of quran. just like we can't understand 'kill them wherever you find them' as some excuse to kill nonbelievers, because it goes against other parts of quran.

This is just like saying can God be unfair?

So let's just think of what His attributes are...

                        exactly.

now i KNOW that God knows everything, incliuding the future, although it doesn't mean HE brought those decisions. we just have to know what God is and how He is and/or operates.

how i see it is, we make the future with our thoughts and intentions (for example, you may think of going somewhere tomorrow and when you decide that you almost already did it) but since we're not alone here, there's other people involved, their intentions get in the way, and there's lets say 5 different possibilities and the one most likely to happen stays... it's kinda mathmatical. and since God invented the system... of course He will be aware of it... will know all possibilities and see which one has most potential.
