    Salam/Peace,

I want to study Islam, this is my biggest dream. I have found a website of an Institute for Islamic studies here in the Netherlands. It's possible to study in many locations, and is not that expensive, but at this moment I want to increase my knowledge on Islam on my own??

Does anybody know any good books regarding Islam that I should buy? I have also found a website where I can learn Arabic for free, this is great! http//www.madinaharabic.com/

If anybody knows any good books that I should buy, then please tell me. Thanks in advance!! )

      Dear
      Congratulations for your decision.
Study Arabic and islamic literature yourself instead of depending of "fraudulent " translation.

Here you will get many excellent books for free download.

          peace,

The best advice is to study something from its source, so in this case, by reading and studying The Quran. No translation is perfect, thus as long as one reads with an intelligent approach, and using the many great study tools that are available free, e.g. see www.StudyQuran.org you should be able to build a solid foundation. Dont forget that study is one thing, application is another. Apply as you learn, see how it goes.

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

From this publisher I like the following Quran Edition but again I will advise that try to be independent by learning arabic as soon as possible because no translation can be perfect.

                      Peace,
                      Respectfully.

I agree with brother Wakas here.
Study The Quran itself, God willing.

I would also compare the translations of The Quran and research Arabic words but it's also very important to learn Arabic language.
I wish you all the best.

                      God bless you.
                      Peace.
