It is my interpretation, but I take Gentiles to be a linguistic form of Jinn, so these people are Jinn in their approach, i.e. very worldly and following Satan.
The popular etymology is that Gentiles is from Latin/Greek and refers to people of another land, i.e the Jews said it because other people were not of their kin/nation and thus not of the chosen ones. Personally I am certain Gent-iles is an adaptation of Jinn and originally foreigners who were not of the Jewish faith were not of God's realm for of the other world, i.e. this one. They were thus of "another body (of land).
Be well
